Fiora is 12-1 in NALCS and pick/ban in Korea

I can't wait to see how small a nerf they will give her because god forbid somebody that has flashy spells and isn't Sejuani gets nerfed too hard.

I can't wait to see something along the lines of +10 mana cost on W or -20 damage on rank 5 Q!

Edit: Wow, a small cooldown nerf to her W but massive compensation to her E, great job Riot!

We've been saying Fiora is overpowered for awhile.

How many threads are made about how Fiora can destroy a character while building a good chunk of tank?

GlockHammer13 votes

Considering how they've all fallen on deaf rioter ears, I'd say not enough. :<

DeathBurst6 votes

Well, a Rioter did say that the so called "Tank Fiora" build was going to be nerfed pretty soon.

Orangesilk1 votes

Pick one or the other though, if she's building glass cannon she can burst many champions down, but is prone to being just held in place and blown up fast herself.

If she builds tanky she can't destroy tanks, and is just a threat to squishies due to how sticky she is, and she gets destroyed by proper peeling.

If you can't hit tab to look at what your opponents are building and how to react to it, we've got a problem.

Hello I am Bird10 votes

I'm sorry, but she can destroy tanks either way with % HP true damage with insane scalings.

UnderscorBunnies6 votes

She can "destroy" tanks without building damage unless they stand still or are blind.

or are immobile Sion item 3070

UnderscorBunnies2 votes

Not gonna argue with that, with all the telegraphed hard CC Sion has and his low mobility I'd feel really bad for anyone laning a Sion into a decent Fiora :c

Biffolo2 votes

Not saying she doesn't have problems, but because sion is garbage into her isn't why she's a problem.

UnderscorBunnies1 votes

Oh, no, you misunderstand, I'm a pro-Fiora activist. I think that a lot of the things that people complain about are coming from the way she functioned previously and the way she functions after the rework. She's a duelist, she excels at dueling people. While some of the things that people have been saying are valid, she doesn't need massive nerfs, she doesn't take no skill, and doesn't lack counterplay.

Biffolo1 votes

AH, right. I'm pretty much in the same boat, slightly overtuned, pretty ok overall.

Provengreil1 votes

Why then does this so called duelist generate vitals on multiple enemies?

UnderscorBunnies1 votes

Idk, maybe because she doesn't have four arms that can stab multiple enemies simultaneously? All of her spells are single target, save for her ultimate's AoE heal, which is for allies.

Some tanks aren't mobile, and even the ones with mobility either have conditions or really long cool downs, or both, for most of the game. If Fiora shows up and you're a tank you are going to die because you will not get away from her as a tank and will use your cc against you, unless you out damage her.

Captain Aishi1 votes

she's fiora so you don't outdamage her :P

Orangesilk1 votes

Builds tanky Insane scaling

You now see why bruiser fiora can't bust tanks but is sticky to squishies, if you peel for your carries she's useless. Tank buster Fiora needs her insane scalings and so builds squishy, focus her down and she pops.

ok so I hit tab, see it's fiora who deals max health% true damage and proceed to build...what exactly?

Biffolo1 votes

Health/armor. It's not all true damage, still primarily physical.

Lauchmelder10 votes

I propose the Riven treatment. That 5 MS will surely balance her! (Kappa)

A Miss Fortune5 votes

Didn't Riven's winrate actually increase after that nerf?

Lauchmelder5 votes

I'm fairly sure it did XP. But i refuse to call that a "nerf" tbh. 5MS isn't even noticeable for me.

Malicious Metal10 votes

Mordekaiser I'd kill to get five more MS...

DeathBurst3 votes

Well, I don't kow about Riven, but I can assure you that as any Juggernaut or Immobile Mage, you really feel the difference that 5 MS make.

After all they have done (and are still doing for god damn sake) to gangplank... They better remove 75% of her kit in one patch. And the other 25% in the next one. summoner 31

Orangesilk9 votes

GP is a ridiculously broken champion though, and I'm not even sure this round of nerfs in the PBE will be able to stop him.

Sahn Uzal7 votes

A hyper carry relying on his Clunky, Slow, Destroyable skillshot. (barrels) Who only get's one chain. And then has to wait 14 seconds before he can make another chain. These nerfs are stupidly huge. summoner 31

Orangesilk14 votes

I wouldn't give him simple hyper-carry status like KogMaw or Cassiopeia has simply because his early game is completely astoundingly safe, and allows him to farm almost unpunished in almost any lane. He doesn't have troubles getting to his extremely powerful endgame like all other hypercarries in the game and that's the main problem here, not having significant moments of weakness. This combined with the global pressure his ult forces on teams makes him more relevant pre-20 than he has any right to be, considering his insane late-game power.

His barrels are clunky and hard to place, but this speaks only of the difficulty of playing the champion, not the effectiveness of the champion in the proper hands. A skilled GP is very consistengly slamming barrels on the enemy team. Champions that are balanced around being hard to play often end up being very oppressive in the right hands.

Sahn Uzal6 votes

simply because his early game is completely astoundingly safe

Tell that to Riven Fiora Renekton A Darius who knows what zoning is Graves Quinn Vayne Gnar Fizz Zed Leblanc And a bunch of other lane bullies who can abuse weak laningphases.

His inbuild gold income just allowed him to catch up too easily. That was the main problem imo summoner 31

Hello I am Bird5 votes

Quinn is not a hypercarry. She falls off astoundingly well late game unless she builds bruiser, as everyone is teamfighting by this time, and she can't go in solo assassination like she does best.

Sahn Uzal2 votes

I never claimed Quinn was a hypercarry... summoner 31

Serika Zero1 votes

Honestly, I'd say that the global ultimate is the reason GP is such bullshit champion.

Its like: ok, this guy has to farm for 30 minutes before he can feel his presence on the map, we can make plays else where....................... out of nowhere ........... cannons.............

Zedex2 votes

Now you actually have to be good with his barrels, as it was intended.

Mind you it still does seem a little heavy handed.

Gangplank is an example of how Riot has no idea what people play a champion for, and how to make an old kit relevant.

Meanwhile she's 3-11 in china @20% pick/ban rate & 4-10 in EU @50% pick/ban rate.

And she's 11-6 in korea and is not pick/ban at 50% pick/ban rate.

Stop just looking at NA collectively she's 30-28 in pro play which doesn't scream OP to me (though tank fiora needs to be changed regardless).

Reworking Fiora was the dumbest friggin' idea. Her new passive is more OP than her old ult was, a bunch of people who loved old Fiora won't touch her with the new kit now regardless of how strong or weak it is, and yeah, this stupidity. She was strong but nowhere near this level even in favorable metas.

Orangesilk3 votes

To be fair it's mostly an american problem, Koreans seem to be able to counter her well so her winrate doesn't skyrocket and she's been doing rather terribly in EULCS, LPL and all the other regions.

Looking at the NALCS for competitive balance is kinda like looking at Bronze V for standard game balance, bottom of the barrel is really really deep down.

I mean, as far as you americans are concerned, Gankplank and Lulu are balanced champions, omg, my sides.

That's not true at all - she is an absolute menace in Korea when played by anyone competent, which basically entails farming two damage items and the rest tank, then roll your drooling face across the keyboard.

A pretty big indicator that she's OP was when jatt said "fiora stat checks every top lane juggernaut".

1 character keeping 4+ out of the meta. Who knew, riot didn't.

Serika Zero1 votes

Jatt also said stupid things like Human reaction time is above 0.2 seconds when Aphro did a Flash Dark Binding. So, its impossible to "avoid" anything below that time frame. As such, it was a perfect play with no chance what so ever for the enemy adc. Which is false. Yes, in average that's true, most people got over 0.2s reaction time. But there's people with faster reaction time than that.

So, not everything which comes out of this guy's mouth is the truth and only the truth so help him god.

Fiora also defeats Juggernauts because...................... SHE HAS MOBILITY. While they don't really. Take Illaoi. She can't hit a target that has a dash every 2 seconds even if she wanted to with more than her W and R.

It's not like you can't beat fiora because she speed demons away every time you try to fight her.

Has more to do with the fact they can't 1v1 her or ever split push vs her. Or maybe the fact that she literally builds their intended build and manages to out damage everyone. That's why generally when you see her loose the early game its because she's laning vs Graves, Liss, Quinn, Ryze or Poppy. Poppy is a true 55/45 though towards fiora but she can still win.

You don't even need to speak about what they do inside the game because they never make it.

Serika Zero1 votes

Juggernauts, what this argument is about, are slow and have predictable patterns. Fiora is an agile fighter with the ability to block a part of the enemy's kit. Due to predictable patterns, Fiora gets to pick and chose what part of their kit she nullifies. And because they are slow, Fiora gets to pick and chose what fights, what trades she takes and what fights she doesn't take.

That's why Fiora crushes juggernauts in lane and later in split push. Its not because "omg stat checks", its just like in the Shen vs Sion clip from champion spot light. Its difficult for a juggernaut to actually use their skills on Fiora. In a similar fashion. An adc has nothing to say to an Akali/Diana/Talon. They get to bully them till they hit level 6, then the ADC just dies. Also, similar to this, most melee top laners can't do much to Teemo in top lane. Because he has range, and a blind and he is annoying. Hence hate. Same stuff its like if the enemy has a Nunu that invades your jungle. 1v1 you can't do anything to stop him. You can just watch him take your jungle and bully you around the map (unless your team collapses). And in that case, not even Fiora can survive a 1v2 or 1v3 fight at lv 2 ("team collapsing on her").

I played Fiora vs Cho, went 11/0/8. I soloed him at lv6-7 without using my ult since I was already feed (my jungler ganked for me twice, so I snowballed). I'm not saying Fiora is weak. She has her powers. But using tanks and juggernauts against her is a bad idea. As those are the type of heroes she can crush the moment she has an edge in front of them. If anything, her kit counters them... not by being "stat checks" but due the mobility she offers while doing %max hp true damage. You can't "stat check" %max hp true damage. Coz it goes though your stats. So, the only way to deal with Fiora, is to kill her.

Just as snowbally as she is when ahead. She has a hard time coming back from behind. When behind, she's just a noob bait. Wanting people to toss all their spells on her when she Ws. But that's all she can do, while praying the enemy is incapable of ending the game before she gets on equal footing with everyone else.
