Integrating new players. Get a Mentor/New Player system

I guess I'm aiming this toward Riot.

I've often though of coming up with a short, to the point, video that goes about 5 to 7 minutes that basically on-boards all new players so when people are being spoken to in a lobby, they have a good chance of knowing what's going on.

E.g. I was in a lobby with a friend once (someone who was never truly going to play LoL anyway) and he picks MF because he doesn't know what he's doing. This was blind pick, and someone else called ADC. That person, who'd picked another ADC, said "[NAME], I'm ADC right?"

He says to me "wtf is ADC?"

That's what I was looking to resolve. But the more I think about it, the more it seems impossible to crash-corse what you need to know in this game. What if there's a service in which people can play with vetted and seasoned players through the 1-20 player phase. For example, I'm a new player, I request a buddy, and in my queues, I get games with people who have level 30 accounts. My team knows I'm a new player by some icon above my head, and all seasons players - players not requesting this service - have opted into the system.

Anticipated Questions

A. Why, as a seasoned player, would I sign up for that queue?

It's a good question. I think the way this would be most beneficial to all players if we implemented a LP bonus system. The new player would be required to vote on all teammates: Helpful, Rude, or NA. This would help refine the system, and would prevent people from joining the system but not actually helping anyone.

B. What sort of players would want to participate in a system that IDs the new player?

I don't know. But it's voluntary for all parties, so you don't have to.

_C. How do we prevent this from being exploited? _

Since it's operating in a matchmaking system, it's possible that a known account would be able to auto-upvote anyone for an IP bonus, but it's unlikely. The system would not allow for duo-queues of Mentors and New Players. All games where someone joined as a duo queue with a Mentor and a New Player would not be eligible for the IP bonus themselves.

However, the Mentor in the duo queue would be eligible for an LP bonus from an unaffiliated New Player not part of their duo queue.

The system would have to reward something other than LP. This would be a serious rank inflation tool that WILL be exploited one way or another. Even if it's not, players who are not actually all that good will sign up for this just to boost their LP.

Give IP, give extra Hextech Boxes/Keys, etc. Not LP.

I had originally made it IP, but the concept I was going for here is this:

_Should the system operate accordingly, new players will have quicker integration, and veterans would level faster. _

Your point is a good one, and I'd in no way want this to be an ELO hack. Maybe I meant experience? The goal is leveling up and nothing more. I'm now realizing how many things are in leveling: MMR, IP, LP, EXP, rank, and potentially RP.
