Can people stop claiming that Cooldown Reduction is the cause of the high damage meta?

Im not saying that there isnt too much CDR in the game but If you take even one minute to think about it logically instead of just regurgitating something you read on Reddit its pretty obvious that CDR is not the cause or significantly contributing to the damage meta.

  1. When people say damage is too high they mean burst damage. Aka damage that occurs in a short period of time usually 1-3 seconds. CDR does NOT increase burst damage for the vast majority of champions, it increases sustained damage. Basic math tells you that most champions even with high CDR cannot recast the same ability within that 1-3 second window.

  2. Games are snowballing and ending more quickly meaning people dont even reach 40% CDR most of the time since it requires multiple items. No one buys item 3158 and it results in you dealing less damage if you're a mage so using this item to suggest people cap CDR early is bs.

  3. Damage is high at ALL points in the game including early game when people have 0% CDR or mid game when they have lower amounts.

CDR being all over the place is part of but not the only problem.

Trinity use to not have any CDR n it but now it has 20% and is the first item often completed by many fighters. Same goes for all of the haste AP items where is long ago Archangels had none and the same goes for Luden's while many mages take the 10% CDR once level 10 rune.

CDR is capped much faster than it use to be.

But runes and more specifically keystones are likely more to blame for the damage creep as well as tank items having been all around nerfed since season 2. 1350 health warmogs, never forget.

Oh and yea a lot of tank items have CDR where other stats being higher like MR or health could actually be useful in making players decide which to take when just lookingfor an MR item and not so much an MR + CDR item. Say on something like item 3194 or item 3001 had 70 MR but no CDR as an example.

i mean excess CDR is a certainly a factor that contributes to the issue, but the cause? no... that is completely stupid.. the issue we have is burst damage on things that are supposed to do burst.. all the damage is front loaded.. so fights are over sometimes even before u can react.

cdr makes those fights happen more often... they allow use of a full kit and a full combo more often.. but the fact is a full combo didnt used to bring people down to half hp... let alone have 1-2 spells kill the in under 0.5 seconds.. no amount of cdr is going to do that..

AD items should not have access to CDR yeah, only defensive items and mage and support items.

but even so... that's not going to fix damage creep.. it would certainly help if damage creep was addressed.

but your basiclaly saying

"your allowed to drop 2 bombs per min instead of 3"... the bomb is still going to do the same amount of damage.

you haven't "lowered the damage" of the bombs.

also... who the fuck says that CDR is the cause of damage creep anyways anyways... i haven't heard that here in a LONG time.
