How about you you instead try to design with the most counter-play u can give it, yet still being extremely fun to play AS.

THAT should be the new standard for champion reworks and design. COUNTERPLAY

make it so if the player messes up... they are punished for it.

not just " ok the champion i made can get out of most situations, but if they fuck up here, here, and here, they will still die.. so lets add X so they can still get out..

if they don't NEED something for their kit to work... don't give it to them.

if something doesn't NEED a slow.. don't give it a slow.. if it doesn't NEED a speed boost or 3 hit passive... dont give it one.. if it doesn't NEED a reset... don't give it.

try to make the best most fun champion u can that does this

you took away what was a "just stand back throw spears all day, never going near anyone, always staying out of range, un-interactive, an never using kitty form to do anything but pounce around the map or escape if they got on within a half screen of you "

into a " pounce in and out" land a spear and go into melee range as a squishy AP champion.

if you don't land the spear.. u cant go in... if you land the spear but go in when its not safe.. you still die

you don't have a "free escape"

you did this to nidalee.. and not only made her more balanced you made her TREMENDOUSLY more FUN (well until you threw her into the jungle the next season, but that had nothing to do with her rework, so I'm choosing to exclude that)

Please define "counterplay" because counterplay means a hell of a lot of different things according to boards. Also please tell me how would you cram so much "counterplay" into a champion and still make it function, let alone be "fun", just function without making the abilities be insane when they do hit someone

I have an idea.

Lets let players build defensive items that cna counteract burst damage or an ability

One can have a spell shield MR and some helath

The other can have Armor MR Hand a revive.

We can call them banshee's Veil and the other Guardian an.... oh wait we use to have those but then riot made them AD and AP items killing their versatility and leading to 5 damage items being standard for marksmen and mages.
