Yi did 1750 true dmg in half a second to me.

And I was playing vlad with hextech, rylais and morello. So I had some good health and I didn't even have the chance to press EW, because I died so fast. Every day I say "oh those were just bad teams, won't happen again" and every day I win lane and lose game cuz some dumb no skill champ got fed off of my team. And that's just yi. Imagine a good champ with conqueror or whoever the fuck actually, because riot decided this game will become a coin flip street fighter. I'm not even mad anymore, I'm just disappointed how riot ignores completely everyone for the sake of profit. That's the only logical explanation as to why are they adding more and more dmg into the game and making them a 10-15 mins game over. Ahhh, whatever.

His E on-hit is only up to 50=35%bAD.

Even accounting for Conquerer, Rageblade, and his passive all at once, that puts him still at at least >600 AD if he has 2.0 AS.

You can't get 600 AD unless you're going full AD and get Baron, 3 infernals, and Elder, or are pre-bugfix Jhin.

I call bullshit.

(Note: Specific math not available, I'm too tired for that shit)

The OP probably saw 1750 in white text before he respawned, but white text also means mixed damage, which is a pretty reasonable explanation

You do realize I can get 563 AD on Pyke...... and he is one of the lowest scaling AD growths in the game..... and doesn't have an AD steroid passive.....

Anywho...... The Yi in question was item 3153 item 1419 item 3124 item 3053 item 3052 With Conquerer + Coup De Gras + Sudden Impact.

The damage may not have all be true damage, but with the current Guinsoo's, it might as well have been. My bet? Probably 720 or so True damage and the rest almost wholly penetrating Physical damage.

DuskDaUmbreon2 votes

Pyke also has a HP>AD conversion, so it's feasible he could reach that much with the right runes (Overgrowth and Gathering Storm being a must), drakes, and items.

That's also only 80 bonus AD from items. There is no way in the seven hells he dealt 1750 damage in a second with only a maximum of 250 AD (assuming an extremely generous 114 base AD).

Even if you had zero armor he wasn't doing that much total damage in a second. Unless your build was literally just 6 Warmog's, that is. Then the %hp from both item 1419 and item 3153 MIGHT have been enough to get you close, if his timing on his passive, E, and Rageblade were all perfectly in sync, and you were a Cho'gath with 11 or more stacks.

Pyke's Health > AD passive is basically to allow his itemization to compensate for almost no Level based AD growth. Pyke has one of the lowest Base AD in the game..... among the 4th lowest bracket, topping out at 93. You literally need 882 Bonus HP to compensate for the Base AD a champion like Darius gets ...... just for being....... Darius. And how many Pyke builds actually integrate HP?

Even in the tank meta, HP items were extremely rare. It was either item 3071 or item 3065 , and you never built them together.

And no. I never took Resolve to do it.

Here's a tip:

item 1412 item 3142 item 3071 item 3813 item 3156 item 3158 for example, has:

  • 285 AD built in

  • 48 AD from Transcendence

  • 28.57 AD from his Passive

  • 36-48 AD from reasonable length game on Gathering Storm

  • 12 from Runes

  • And then you have 93 AD Base.

Total: 508. 57 AD.

P.S. If I wanted to, I could go Domination Secondary, and go Eyeball Collection, for another 18 AD.

That's pre Barons, Pre Drakes, pre buffs, and it's not the highest AD output I've actually done. I've had higher builds with item 3042 , and on Pyke, item 3078 can actually replace Boots and still be substantially fast, giving even more AD, more CDR, and HP to convert.

I think the highest I got was like 630 AD.

Oh. And item 2140

(And keep in mind.... this is with a champ with the lowest AD scaling per level in the game, no AD buffing/converting skills. You can get higher on Yi or Zed by far, and that's significant, because 630+ AD is insane when most AP champs have trouble getting that even though AP is supposed to scale to numbers about double that of AD. The only way most mages get above that is Death cap, which usually only gets into the 800-900s).

How much armor do you think Vlad has? A full stacked Guinsoos grants 6.5%-15% total armor pen. Percent is not as good if the target doesn’t build more armor. Even if vlad was 13 vs an 18 yi, yi would only be ignoring about 8 of Vlad’s armor. Not even close to being effectively true damage.

  1. You're ignoring Sudden Impact + Coup Degras.

  2. Yi only takes 2-3 attacks to fully proc a Guinsoo's....

  3. Botrk and Razor's damage is DOUBLE PROCCED with Guinsoo's, for 8% max %, and Current HP.

That's in addition to all Yi's base damage.

  1. The build has about 290 AD easily. 320 with E.

I..was only criticizing the “almost true damage” because of Guinsoo’s. Not talking about the rest of the damage. With Guinsoo’s being the only armor pen item, it wasn’t near true damage, even with Sudden impact’s health. Usually takes all the lethality items to hit close to that point.

Though, honest question, does Alpha Strike really grant Sudden Impact’s effect? It’s not really a dash, teleport, or leap. I guess it could be considered a blink, or coming out of stealth?

O noes! A champion that has no CC or utility, being outrun by almost every other champion in the game and has nearly 0% pick rate on LCS shits on my champion that is almost daily picked on LCS when I try to 1v1 him when he has fully stacked conqueror and rageblade (with possibly wits end fully stacked)

Sarcastically implying someone is an idiot for 1v1ing a Yi with stacked conqueror and rageblade isn't actually advice. You didn't advise how to avoid him, and you literally put a git gud meme. Advice: Stop trying to be patronizing, spouting whatever tired rhetoric you memorized because you thought it was oh so clever when you heard it, and actually offer something.

"Don't fight" is as good as advice as "don't get cc'd," "don't let your team feed," or "git gud." If Master Yi pops over a wall and deletes you, it's not like you exactly had much of a choice out of that situation.

Had you offered something helpful such as "be aware of his map position and push objectives elsewhere, keeping an eye on his location, and if he is MIA assume he is coming to gank you" perhaps you would be taken seriously.

Alas.

SlashStriker1 votes

Dude seriously this is ridiculous. I didn't say "don't fight Yi at all". I said "Don't fight Yi when he has fully stacked Conqueror Rageblade" which is the exact weakness. Conqueror requires 4 seconds to be in battle and rageblade requires 4 auto attacks for melee champion to get phantom hit and Wits End is similar to rageblade

Also for a champion that lacks team based utility what do you expect? It's pretty obvious he will be great 1v1 duelist. Meanwhile other junglers are great gankers like sejuani, natulus, lee sin and so on. Yi is more farming-type dude and does not apply huge pressure to enemy laners like other campers

What else do you want me to say? You just ignore the specific conditions I mention and continue full-on emotionally without thinking much

If higher elo players are able to deal with Yi then why aren't you?

You didn't tell him to do anything you sarcastically implied he was an idiot for fighting a fully stacked Yi. Whether or not that is a valid point, it isn't advice.

"O noes! "What else do you want me to say? You just ignore the specific conditions I mention and continue full-on emotionally without thinking much"

All I said was using LCS as the basis for every rank isn't valid, and that your "advice," isn't advice. If you add emotions to my text, I'm afraid that's on you.

"If higher elo players are able to deal with Yi then why aren't you?"

Where did this come from? I can handle Yi just fine, why are you putting words in my mouth? I'm aware he has strengths and weaknesses which I try to exploit to the best of my ability (he's immune to slows, but not roots, so Morgana root ftw).

Please recall this argument was about using LCS to determine a champion's strength in lower (i.e. the plat V yi) ranks. You keep derailing onto tangents, and funnily enough accuse me of being unreasonable.

The OP is DIamond IV. The Yi who dominated him is Plat V.

I know Diamond IV isn't LCS (actually it is since some teammates don't climb back to Masters in a season), but you're basically saying the 2% is wrong.... when you're at best maybe in the top 50%.

I was using Plat V as my standing point since that's what the Yi is, and I would like to point out I never said he was overpowered nor underpowered, all I said was using LCS as the basis for each rank isn't a true representation.

And people don't usually consider Plat V to be especially special since that's usually what people pay to boost to. Also, I never said LCS is wrong, I said a champion may seem stronger or weaker depending on rank.

Master Yi for example, is strong and simple. Azir, on the other hand, is very strong but incredibly complicated and depends on both mechanical and strategic skill.

Master Yi dominates lower elos, and Azir, not so much. Doesn't mean Azir is weak in LCS, it's that people don't know how to play him, and it's pretty impossible not to know how to play Master Yi well.

Its okay. Yi mains will defend it to keep their win streaks going while Vlad players actually need to do more than click a button to do damage. As a health based champ Vlad is far more difficult to use well than that broken turd burglar they refuse to address for years now.

Is it possible he did that much true damage? Hm. Conqueror turns 20% of your damage (abilities and basic) into true damage and increases AD overall, plus Yi's E and Infinity Edge grants crit true damage. So saying Yi had 300 damage and 60% critical strike with E active and Conqueror/IE? Alpha strike plus one E with crit could easily do around 700-1,000 damage. When Conqueror is active it'd be 8-35 AD bonus, plus 20% of that into true.

Good thing he's not an assassin or anything.. oh wait. Well, that's alright, just build something to slow him or reduce his attack speed....Oh wait.

Fake balance, folks.

Stop feeding and get good

Sillae2 votes

Vlad has an untargetable move on a non ult that completely nullifies any laner that depends on skillshots, which Yi does not. This is a case of cancer against one type, useless against the other.

Though Yi's damage always seemed overtuned for his mobility and attack speed (I count alpha strike as mobility).

Also looking at your history, it seems pretty weird you'd base all Yi's off one game. Yi secured multiple dragons and rift herald and apparently two barons, he had better macro and an almost full build, pretty sure you were outplayed in the larger scope of things (even if your team mates were larger the reason you lost).

Jerry SeinfeId1 votes

I doubt he really did tho. And let's say he just did 1750 total in 1 second. That would have to be an insanely fed crit yi's initial burst. In no other situation can I see this actually happening.
