So far this season I have unlocked 32 chest (solo, not grouped) and have learned...
A lot about the game. I play champions I dont play very often, or have never played, in an attempt to get their chest for the season.
This exposure to alternate champions grows my understanding of the game, and what to expect. I mean you know how much more comfortable playing vs one of your mains you feel because you have more of a clue of what they can do to you.
This growth and understanding is only a side reason for why I play these champs... ITS FOR THE FREE STUFFS!!
Iv apparently been a bit lucky with some of the chest drops over the last season, and this season. Iv gotten two Karma skins (winter wonder, and order of the lotus), and while I dont play them I also had (arcade heca, dj sona, corporate mundo, radiant wukong, and other skins) drop. Im keeping some of those around in case I pick those champs up. Not to mention the skins Iv disenchanted for essence. Iv also got 13 more chest to unlock, just waiting on keys.
First Id kind of like to thank Riot for implementing a way to get free stuff. I mean every other free to play game... no, you know what, just, better late than never. So good on that.
Second, while Im 32 chest deep into this season, some of those champs are really difficult to get an S on with their intended role... I played a lot of Karthus last season to try and earn an S on him. Developed a pretty decent Karthus game trying, enjoyed that somewhat... Despite carrying games pretty hard, earning an S with him just required too much CS and kills for me to keep trying.... mid lane. I just went 5/5/11 as support Karthus and got my Karth S for the season... 5/5/11 Karth support S. I also got more gold than some of my team mates, did more damage to champs than anyone in the match (not team, match), but still 5/5/11.
Some weird stuff...
People hate Gragas support more than Teemo support.
Pantheon support plays like the old point and click stun Taric in a lot of ways.
Oriana support with the right ADC is just stupid, and if that catches on will get her nerfed for support role.
Despite having some pretty decent stats on VI support (2/4/19)... I cannot seem to earn an S.
People have dodged me when I que up with some off meta stuff... in normals.
I consider myself a support main, but dont own Sona.
