So Rene and Master Yi are toxic champions for most players, yet we buffing them.

ValiantKiller··4 votes·2,924 views

Renekton is toxic cancer top lane champion, MasterYi is toxic jungler champion.

And what we do with toxic champions such as them , Right the same we did with Vayne , buff them up instead of giving them new kit that can be deal with.

literally only have to CC yi one time to blow him up, Ren gets set behind and becomes useless vayne also can be set back early, if you set a late game champ behind and you let the game get to late well that's not the fault of rito or the kit

Vayne level 5 shot my level 5 Renekton 3 times and half healthed me...

Vayne is an early game lane bully in top lane who hyper scales...

there are those who would counter her top but if your pick isn't strong into vayne yes can be rough 3 aa with a q and W passive gonna be some decent poke, also how you play the lane dictates the game if you don't respect the range advantage its gonna be a rough ride but realizing you might be at a disadvantage and adjusting your lane phase to compensate goes a long way

Its not like I dont know how to play melee vs ranged. its the fact that even if Im playing safe, if she ult tumbles forward aa, aa, Tumble aa, E I literally cannot respond as she is zoning me off my wave. I was literally pushing a wave into tower, she tp'd and I immediately started running (I didnt see the tp till right at the end of it as I couldnt see tower yet). her MS buff and tumble + Ult caught me ez. From almost a full screen away. She just had to tumble shoot a minion first for the tumble reset.

why did you even post this video. i literally watched the entire thing and i dont think what you are describing has anything to do with that video. the only time you died to vayne was under tower early game and 31 mins in the game 1v3 due to her ghosting + blade kinging you.

I could have showed the Renekton game, but I dont think its in my match history any more. The purpose of the video was just showing that I know how to play the ranged vs melee matchup.

Big difference between champs who can survive a Yi Alpha and ones who can't though, on landing that CC. To actually beat Yi, you generally have to take the first Q, which they won't always give, and by the time they do, they're so fed that the following Auto that is part of Q will kill you.

LiberalWithFacts1 votes

if the game gets to the point where your carries can only take one alpha then the mistakes came way before yi was running everyone down

Illabethe1 votes

That's your excuse any time a champ gets fed. Perhaps some of the time, it's just because he has 170 CS, a Guinsoo's, and several items that scale off it. Or, has Cleanse, or QSS.

it's sooooooo hard for a Yi to get fed :). Especially when his ult adds 7 seconds every single time he kills someone.... Especially when he can build literally anything at all, and scale.

Reality: Yi gets fed every game. The only difference is: do you kill him as much as he kills you?

This used to be the case, but it's not anymore. A sufficiently fed Yi can tank three or even five CC attempts and survive long enough to Alpha Strike his way back to dominance in a 4v1. I've seen it. More than once. Let alone if he just buys something like Mercurial Scimitar. Time was, if you could stun him long enough to get him to half or so, you could beat him. Now, if you don't kill him before the CC wears off, your whole team is toast.

Ragnaveil1 votes

I had a Yi who inted, but once me and my support (I was playing Rhaast top, he was braum) layered our cc vs Sion and a bunch of high damage champions, they couldn't kill him at all once he got Mercurial. Mind you he only went Bloodrazor and Rageblade, no BotRK.

Yi has more HP than Sion or any ADC, can dodge even targeted CC with low CD gapcloser, and scales well with Mallet, Hydra or Merc Scimitar. Smart players have more options to deal with CC than most other carry champions can muster.

"Just CC his R" doesn't count for counterplay. Akalis shroud never countered Galios taunt, or hooks, or any targeted CC and yet people complained she was broken because ... she nullified towers? At least Yi cant do that, like heal himself while being virtually immune to tower shots with absurd DR....

The buff they're giving him is great and something he's always needed, but they're NOT nerfing him in return so far and that sounds horrifying to me.

LiberalWithFacts1 votes

yi does not have more health than sion not unless its one of those rare lethality sions akalis shroud was busted she could sit under turret for free and without taking a shot and healing from an ability on an energy champ? just loved watching all my poke be negated by shrouding and Qing wave, a good comp with smart players and cc will make it hard for yi

nobody cares about that yi buff. its microscopic. when has yi ever been minion blocked to the point that it screws him over? hes still exactly the same champion.

what i want to know is why theyre buffing renektons q, when hes already a strong champion with decent play rate currently. literally no one asked for this.

we want the broken shit champions like vayne nefed. we wanted this for already 3 month. what the fuck is going on at this company? has tencent finally taken complete control?

Tencent isn't a developer, they're just an investment firm. This is all Riot.

tencent is a publisher for many different games, and theyre owning riot because they have bought up the company.

that doesnt mean they dont have influence on riot as a developer. riots upstairs management area, design directive and marketing is probably full of tencents people by now.

the developers dont make the choices. when the management tells them to buff vayne when shes already strong, and keep her overpowered to boost her play rate and her skins sales as a result, then the developers have to follow.

pretending the publisher doesnt have control or influence over the developing studios doesnt make sense. look at EA. theyre consistently insisting from their studios that their games are developed on their own engine, even when the engine cant handle the particular game theyre trying to make. thats partially the reason why anthem and mass effect andromeda turned out like shit.

especially the big publishers often push stupid fucking choices on their game dev studios.

Anthem became shit because the people making the game literally did nothing of value for about 5-6 years. The game literally has at most 16 months of actual development and they couldn't even play their own game since they didn't had a stable enough build to fix it. Literally they only got their asses together when EA told them "hey I've given you 7 years to make this the game is coming out within X amount of time". EA is a scummy company but they are not the only ones to blame for anthems issues. Riot has gone against Tencent's wishes in the past. So also blaming Tencent for everything isn't going to do anything. You have no proof of Tencent being involved in any of Riot's affairs

true, ive heared the entire story. but part of this also happened because they couldnt get anything done half the time.

because EA insisted that anthem was made on their own engine, but the engine couldnt handle a lot of the mechanics the game was supposed to have.

so they needed EA's engineering team that was responsible for the engine to work on it, and to enable them to include the mechanics they had planned into their game.

but EA kept pulling that same team constantly away to other projects, like their big money makers. the fifa games.

so the work on anthem basically slowed down to a fucking crawl, until it was in pre production for 6 years, since they actually couldnt work on the game for weeks and month at a time. they were simply lacking the tools.

imagine youre a game dev, you start working on a game, want to experiment with concepts and implement some mechanic but cant because the engine that the publisher imposed on you doesnt allow it. and then you get an answer like "come back to us in two month, were currently busy with something else".

of course it was also mismanagement in bioware itself, but if i had to work under conditions like that and manage the develpment of a game on an incomplete engine, id put the project on hold aswell until EA finally sorted out their shit and gave me the people i need to really start working on it.

point is, that there is evidence that tencent started to have an influence over riot from the day they bought themselves in as investors. not even as complete owners that they are now. back then, you could immediately see a drastic change in their marketing strategies. considering what kind of a scummy company tencent is, i really dont have a lot of trust or faith in them.

Tencent isn't merely "a" publisher, they're the largest in the world and are primarily concerned with the Chinese audience. League isn't their flagship franchise, it's just another investment (and by the way, gaming is far from their only investment sphere). It's a bit different than EA, who is principally a game developer-slash-publisher, putting their fingers in Bioware's pie.

All Tencent would be concerned about are Riot's business practices. What they're selling for RP, what the prices are like, how they're advertising...

league is one of the largest 3 games in china. all three are owned by tencent.

its not their one and only flagship, but lets not pretend that theyre not heavily managing this game out of their own interest.

buffing champions to force them into the meta can be a form of advertisement. skins are more likely to sell for champions that are heavily played at a time, than those with very low play rates.

Its not skins; its MSI. They want Yi and Neknek in Pro play and Morgana to only be support "for viewer experience". Not saying which audience theyre looking to please but i will say it's nobody who uses these boards.

You mean that iteam that give us the cancer Riven URF mode in ranked?

Ragnaveil2 votes

Riven is URF regardless of buying the item or not, her cooldowns have not been adjusted to the massive quantity and accessibility of cdr in the game. Jax on the other hand is 100x bullshit when he buys this item. Q's and W's out the ass following E's everywhere on top of his tanky stats when popping R.

JhinuinelyDunk1 votes

The bigger problem with riven is her healing with dd and conq and cdr is so easy to het rn

Ragnaveil1 votes

I mean, I just said that cdr is in massive quantity and very much easily accessible. I also made a post on this issue a long time ago but it got ignored. I pointed out the fact that there was for a time before Runes Reforged, a offensive balance triangle (my post had it as just a balance triangle) that kept some problematic picks in check. It consisted of Ratios, Game time+Build Costs, and Cooldowns all working in tandem to keep picks like Riven, Vayne, and Jax from being very problematic. Ever since Runes Reforged, that doesn't exist anymore (Ratios never got touched in Runes, so theres that). Game time+Build Costs have changed so much it favors offense which then favors cdr being easier to get which then means damage via ratio and uptime are more stronger. Ratio doesn't really affect Vayne, but cdr and gametime + build cost do.
