honestly, as someone who plays support from time to time
It's much more fun to play supports I enjoy like Alistar and Taric with melees like Jax and Yasuo than it is any ranged ADC. It feels way more interactive as a support as your job in general is still the same, but you're not there just to damage soak, die, give your carry kills. Your ranged AD can at least farm somewhat with an incompetent support, a melee one can't. And a melee carry can't function in any capacity without a support that knows what it's doing, which is why it feels more fun.
Long story short, supporting melee carries like Jax, Yasuo and Trynd is a lot more enjoyable and interactive than supporting ranged ADCs that typically spend half of lane phase not interacting and farming.
