Just because he's more difficult now doesn't mean he's clunky. I've been doing just fine on him. He takes getting used to because he's no longer auto attack based. If you're just soooo used to auto attacking, sure, everything else is going to feel "clunky" because its different.
His kit is unique in the way it performs. You just have to use it more often to get used to it.

For both of their E you cover no more distance dashing than just walking with tier 1 boots.
