TurquoiseYoshi25 votesGotta correct something here: He really doesn't do that much physical damage anymore. champion.gg suggests that about 80% of his damage is magic, with 18% being physical. That makes it comparable to AP Fizz and AP Ekko, and I doubt anyone would build armor against those two.
Also his passive is comparable to Rumble ult, they have one similar feature (placing down a line of damage over time), but their cooldowns, how they're casted, and even their ability to get people into their respective damage areas are very different. I wouldn't really call one better or worse.
Torterra621 votesI'm looking at corki's scalings and base damages and i m noticing that he does not do mostly ap especially with the build he follows in fact he has very high ad scalings. so saying he's mostly magic damage doesnt make much sense seeing that most of his ap scalings are decently low.

Another wonderful example is Katarina, who can build AD for most of her spells but will always deal magic damage. Corki's Q, W, and R all deal pure magic damage no matter what you build, and his E and AAs deal exactly split magic and physical no matter whether you have more AD or AP.

And he also has access penetration if he needs to, like 70% is still magic damage so voidstaff is viable and is 35% total penetration
If he needs less, wits en is an option as are sorc boots
corki has more viable build options then most carries if we are being honest

Kynami7 votesActually the 10% bonus damage got nixed a while back. Its just a 50/50 split these days.
That said, the fact half of his auto is magic and all his abilities are magic is why he ends up being ~77% magic damage on a per game average. You build MR against Corki if you want to reduce the majority of his damage.

The CD is insanely huge early game and by the time you get to use it your first time more often than not the match is at a point where you don't need it to go in to snowball or they're too strong so you don't wanna go in on it anyways However after the real game kicks in it's pretty good in team fights. Ofcourse it also puts corki in danger that's the drag back but fuck it! BALLS!

Nuuuu Corki early is so good mid. I've found it the same with most ADC's, honestly, you're autos hurt more so you can outtrade them with autos.
Not sure about bot, never played him there.
Venomar1 votesThis is what I don't get. Corki gets popped by heavy poke and all in Champs. You can't shove waves on him because he can last hit pretty well under tower. If you get him behind he's pretty much fucked because he needs about a 8k gold investment to do any real damage.

Corki is the one doing the heavy poke.
The problem is unlike a lot of midlaners he's a lot more responsive to getting all inned as well as having more ways to escape it.

Either he melts your face off into a puddle, gets one of the biggest dashes in the game, massively disrupts the enemy, OR he does nothing. There is no in between.

For example, there is always a lot of crying on the board how Zhonya's is the best stuff in the game, and while stasis might annoy assassin players, the truth is that using Mercurial and feeling - or beating the crap out of your opponent - is almost always better than standing still for 2 seconds. Similarly, rushing Hexdrinker against Syndra or LB is 10 times better than rushing Abyssal.

What is he even supposed to do? Long range easy to land poke like many ad casters have? Short range burst like an assasin? Being able to farm safely for lategame and scale with crit items like a traditional adc?

YumaS2Astral3 votesThe thing with Corki is that he has all of the benefits of an ADC (sustain, sustained damage, better itemization than mages) while having the biggest benefit of a mage: magic damage (it is harder to itemize against for tanks because they generally cannot afford to build more than one magic resistance item and the magic resistance items themselves are pretty scarce for tanks, compared to armor items)
