So when is Duskblade going to be Melee only? Tired of seeing it on ADC's.
Really lol, I shouldn't have to die from half HP because Jhin flash auto'd me with fourth shot.

Pretty sure that happens with or without a duskblade.

This
I don't usually do his Armor Pen Build, I do the traditional crit build (since it ends up scaling better on everything that isn't stacking armor). I cannot count the amount of times I've executed people under even 60% because they didn't respect the fact that I had the 4th bullet loaded.
That said, Yes; duskblade should be melee only, so we can actually encourage it for its intended users without everyone else abusing it.
Its intended users? That would just be preposterous.
I honestly thought it was melee only on release, and didn't realize until some time afterward that it was in fact ranged as well, which makes no sense really.
If ADCs want pen, they have range and can afford the raw damage hit that the pen items cost in exchange for the pen. Melees, who have to be a bit more creative to get their damage off (in theory), should benefit from utilities that ranged should not have access to.
Duskblade is movement and pen already, why would a ranged need to benefit from the passive?
...
Not everyone is ezreal and can abuse their high base dmg + spammability, or even benefit from the mana
am pretty sure jhin will kill you from half hp without duskblade or his 4th shot. in an lck match i saw a jhin chunk 60% of a malzahar hp with a regular shot and it happens in matches as well. i mean he crits at over 1400 damage so it makes sense right
bottom line. jhin is op. he got nerfs but he got compensated for them. and the nerfs are barely. visible.
Even on someone like Varus it's still really obnoxious, though. And MF.
At least it's intended on Varus, his midlane tear build has the bursty playstyle that synergizes with Duskblade. Really, melee only is not the solution here, there are ranged champions who make good use of this item because it suits their intended playstyle, this will just be a giant nerf to them while the abuse cases just go back to their normal everyday builds without being affected at all.
Well if varus goes back to botlane, great. It's not like varus mid is such a great thing. It's obnoxious and toxic to play against.
His botlane build doesn't bother with it at all, only his mid lane, which is where Riot intended Varus to be anyway. So like I said, melee only Duskblade would just be a nerf to him.
Probably never. What Riot will likely do is nerf the aspects that make it useful to ADCs (the absurd stats it gives) and buff the parts that are mostly useless (the execute passive).
I am gonna be honest what melee champion synergizes well with duskblade other than zed talon and rengar that isnt building crit.
nocturne
Kha'Zix, Riven, really any AD champion that doesn't build crit, but also tends to stack AD and finds use out of armorpen. There are a lot of champions in the game that either do that normally or are capable of doing that.
Kha and Nocturne are good ones I didn't think of that make good use, but Riven? I don't see it. I know they can make use of the stats, that's obvious, but the passive doesn't seem to synergize well with most melees. The reason why Jhin and MF are building is is so Jhin can basically auto 4 times for a confirmed kill (in theory) and mf can auto ult for a cheese 1 shot. Riven doesn't burst quick enough inless she's feed and me is more of a fighter than an assassin. The only time I see it build on champions other than the obvious ones are people going off tanks or tank full ad assassin just so they have the stats.
Yeah I get the idea. Riven just kinda popped into my head as I was thinking of similar people, diving skirmishers, fighters, assassins and the like. It's serviceable on Riven but not as good as most others that could build it.
I wouldn't build duskblade on Riven, it might be good early game, but lategame you aren't going to make use of the passive as well.
It's a decent (though situational) pick for
if you're going AD.
That would happen anyway if he had enough AD, its an execute that also is a
teed crit.
when they nerf it or add AD items which offer more damage.
