Need gold when playing support?

Here's how! Take gold gen runes(break the meta!), the bandit mastery, make sure to make the most out of your support item, build banner of command or zz'rot. (or both!). gold gen runes will give you an extra 318 gold per 10 minutes, the bandit mastery will give you +1 per minion killed near you, and 3/10 gold depending on if you are melee or not. Couple that with the passive gen from the support item and the optional BOC or zz'rot and you should be swimming in passive gold along with the added bonus of extra map control and the possibility of getting a turret. PSA: don't take gold gen runes in an aggressive/kill lane

side bar as we are talking about supports and not having gold. if you are focused on trying to build damage and big items with out your gold income item and you for go a damn sightstone thinking if you dont spend the 800 gold you are gonna get some where faster is jsut stupid. you are just hurting your team as a whole. lack of vision is lack of map control and lack of objective control. it can allow the other team to pressure and create kills cuz they know your support didnt get a SS , well you ask " how do they know ? " press tab in any game you see what items are built and not. if i tab and see no SS on a support and im a mid, a jungler or even a bot laner im gonna call for ganks over and over and completely shut down that lane and make both of the enemy bot lane so far behind they are a non factor in the game.

Yeah but they don't offer combat stats which are kinda nice during laning. They used to be the meta and then ... I guess people wanted better combat stats or gold gen options got better?

Bandit is pretty standard, I think.

Gold gen runes? I dunno. 318 gold per 10 minutes isn't nothing, but it's less than the value of a single death (between reward gold and time lost respawning), so if losing the effect of combat stat runes costs you a death or a kill, it wouldn't be worth it.

Gold isnt really an issue when I play support. My issue is that regardless of what I do or how many assists I have, I'm always like 2 levels behind everyone.

Exp gain on supports sucks and isnt very fun to play with...

it use to be common place that on all supports you ran gold per ten quints. it just of recent that people stopped doing that and focusing more on "damage".

i have played support since s2 and both of my support rune pages have gold per 10 quints and i never have a lack of gold.
