Dear tank players, here's how you deal with the once dreaded lane that was Nasus:

Rush thornmail. He literally can't fight you now. He will kill himself trying to do so. You're no longer a free farm lane for him. You get to out-teamfight him and outduel him now!

Just another class of champions Nasus can no longer lane against, cheers.

"Nasus - Changing E to % shred and making it so while R is active Q has a lower CD. Intended to be overall buffs, in particular to Nasus's ability to fight other tankier folks (often all he can reach)."

we did it

At this point, I don't think Nasus is meant to be a good duelist anyway.

So what's he supposed to be good at then? :/

Taking towers quickly with all those stacks.

Taking towers quickly with all those stacks.

Gotta be able to force your opponent off the tower in the first place, otherwise he can never push

Ralanr1 votes

That implies laning never ends and people don't teamfight while you push.

That's assuming Nasus can get farmed enough to be a threat in split pushing to begin with

How many stacks exactly does he need for that?

How many stacks exactly does he need for that?

depends on the match up and timing. Generally 150 stacks at roughly 8-10 minutes is required if you want to effectively trade

But what about general splitpushing?

But what about general splitpushing?

It depends on whether I can duel the guy or not. If I can't duel him, I can't push until he's gone. If he's gone, you can still attempt to take towers and do so fairly adequelty at 150 stacks but again, it's all timing. 150 stacks at 20 minutes is pretty horseshit as an example.

But why would you pick him over other splitpushers with a better early game, and the ability to actually dive and fight people.

Ralanr1 votes

Now you see why Nasus is a bad champion. He's only decent at one thing.

BobaFlautist1 votes

I mean durable splitpushers struggle to do tjeir job against juggernauts and skirmishers, so at least he's in good company.

Bramble Vest will warp top lane, mark my words. And not in a good way.

The 15-35% armor pen on his E now will make the new thronamail less effective against him. If you ignore that much armor from a tanky opponent they are really going to struggle to make that active work well. We all know that pen and life steal counters thornmail. I assume that will still apply to the new thornmail and Nasus will now have the proper tools built into his kit.

In addition, max-rank q on ultimate has a 1.1 second cooldown (now). With his auto-attack reset, he effectively has a 1.8 attack speed. He can stack cleaver reasonably quickly with q-aa every 1.1 seconds, and so cleaver will be a strong buy into tanks. Black cleaver combined with spirit fire will negate 51% of armor.

Tanks used to counter nasus because they could ignore his stacking, clearing the wave and hiding under turret, then joining team with their superior teamfight. Now, Nasus will be able to crush armor stackers -- both in lane and in the front-line of a teamfight.
