It's no secret that Darius can be one of the strongest lane bullies in the game if you're playing a melee character. With his passive, W, and pull factored in, it makes sense that he has a lot of upfront power to mow people down. Part of that laning strength is also due to the large radius and range of his Q poke, which deals considerable damage on its own and doubles as a heal when being ganked. I've had so many situations where my jungler and I will catch him overextended, only for him to gain back 1/4 of his health with is large Q radius and kill me or my jungler as a result. It happens quite often too, especially against a good Darius at level 6. My problem isn't necessarily his strength and capacity alone, but how anti-fun and oppressive his laning is during the game.

With that said, my issue isn't even that level 6 powerspike or even his ridiculous healing capability in team fights - it's that he can legitimately zone you out with his Q alone at an early level. The radius is gigantic and the range is very difficult to deal with as a melee with limited poke. You can't farm without being absolutely wrecked and even champions like Maokai will have issues as soon as the Mana runs dry. Once he hits 6, you have to buy a truckload of armor to not die under your own turret and you just can't confront him. Ever.

I don't know if Darius is OP or not, but I do know he isn't any sort of fun to play against. Tactics are drowned out by Darius' brute strength and the only way to beat him is to counterpick him with the few champions that can attempt to beat him. I think it all begins with his ability to spam his Q as a pseudo-poke in the first 5 levels of the game.
