Honestly landing Cassiopea ult in a skirmish can feel like pure luck most times...

If you not hiding in a bush or an enemy is chasing you, landing the stun in a skirmish most times is pure luck. Even when the target is facing you, by the time you cast it, there's a good chance they will look away. Sometimes they don't even turn away intentionally, just moving around randomly or looking for another target and it completely throws off Cass ult.

And the thing is, Cass is so dependent on her ult in order to set up her Q/W. Otherwise she has to depends on her team CCing someone for her to follow up.

The point I'm making is, Cass can feel incredibly dependent on her team for a hyper carry. It doesn't ever feel like there is anything she can do on her own.

Just my thoughts after trying to master this champ for a few weeks.

Team based game by design.

Team based role too. Sans a perfect Illaoi ult or something stupid like that, hypercarries are typically reliant on their teams.

My favorite is her Gaze (ultimate) against death lotus (Katarina R)

Every time I am Katarina I get stunned

yet when I played cass I couldnt stun spinning katarina ever..

Cass is broken OP and you want buffs? Lmao. Good one buddy.

I think the windup on the ult is too punishing. You almost have to predict 1-2 seconds earlier where they will be facing before using her ult in order to account for the windup. Even then you could guess wrong and have some fool face you just as you start the cast. Feels weird having to rely on enemy mistakes that much.

It's definitely the wind-up that's the problem. It's already a short ranged cone, it already has counterplay built into it with it basically being useless on people who aren't directly facing you, stacking this windup that almost feels random on top of it really gives the ability a horrible quality of life. And it's especially astounding considering how many AOE CC abilities there are in the game that are far less conditional. Rakan, sej, Malphite etc

the cone is not short ranged you just want to use it from far away and there is no reason to have it not work on people who are turning away if they have no way of knowing its comming to turn away. then it just becomes random is the majority of the enemy team facing me well ult then. and all of the aoe cc abilites you mentioned are on either very low damage or high cooldown abilites or both hell usually low damage character.

that's why you have to predict where they are going and not just randomly throw it out.

what you are saying basically goes for every skillshot too: the moment you throw it out, it can also happen that your enemy suddenly randomly changes direction and you don't hit it.

that's why you have to predict the moment they want to walk in a way so you can hit your Ult.

Well most skill shots at that range don't have a 1 second windup

except the damage goes through no matter what because its an aoe nuke and it still slows (which is the most random thing about the ult)even though its based on the gorgon sight based ability.

Try and predict when they use an ability with a long cast time or try to auto so they can't look away. Also you can suprise them with a fast ult flash combo for extra range which they usually don't expect. And honestly lategame her ult is not even that important if you can kite well with Q and E, you just use it to force people away from you.

Ult + Flash is very likely a bug, it removes the cast time and immediately stuns.

A lot of champions can do something similar. Like Ahri E Flash

InstaPoppy1 votes

Its not, they already removed the backwards ult flash mechanic but left forward ult flash in. So its pretty likely not a bug.

so the team wide stun nuke should be reliable and not available to counter play

I've learned the hard way to never chase a Cass that finished Rylai's. She's worse than singed because when you decide it was a bad idea it's already too late.

That is all she has going for her. She is singed but a squishy ranged instead of tanky melee. Doesn't work in most metas because of her pre-requisites for damage unlike any other ranged carry.

That's because cass is a difficult champion and knowing when your opponent will turn around for just 0,1 seconds is key in reality you should never get stunned by cass ult if you're good but predicting when the enemy will look at you is really important for being a good cassiopea
