Maokai Support is THE hidden meta champ right now

I've found him to be really strong (just learning him in norms atm though) but he's strong on LoLalytics too. He has a few noob traps (like buying ) which bring the winrate down, but he seems viable with most build paths. I really don't know why more people aren't picking him up, but I hope they do

Low sample size=Unreliable but you can't look at the numbers across the board and think something about that champion is good. I think when a meta playstyle/build arises it'll have a 55% winrate, maybe higher. You heard it here first folks

been playing him support for years. pasisve top laners and slow no damage junglers aren't wanted what is wanted is cc king powerhouse supports. why do you think tank engage supports are all pros take. try Ornn aswell quite fun

I can confirm. Ornn Support is honestly another fun pick up in the Supporting Role.

he is probably one of the best support to shut down a hyper carry whats the point of playing other champs when you can solo kill their adc without them being able to fight back or even move their own character LMFAO

Imo maokai is only good if the enemy support doesn't know the match up. Morg/Nami should destroy him without much effort meanwhile other picks like sona or bard are going to need knowledge about maokai. I'd say he loses the majority of the match ups bottom though, so you'd essentially be taking advantage of people not knowing how to play against him. That works in solo que and that's a thing people do in solo que all the time (people not know how to play vs singed proxy/ yi and lulu top jung strat). I'm just saying if it does become popular somehow, people will learn how to play against it, and it'll be pretty bad. Everyone knows the Morg and Nami match up and the match up is still extremely hard... can't say the same for maokai.
