i think you are very much down playing how annoying it is to fight an enemy that you can only engage from the side or back. As for mobility you VASTLY underestimate how much a movement speed boost can do. imagine any champion who can press one button and get +30-70 MS till they hit a enemy/ wall/ or large monster OR till they choose to end the ability. You really want to deal with a champion that can do that from one side of the map to the other without ever having to recast the ability?
As for the second or third pass, are you aware that he is not stuck going in a straight line? he can in fact turn with it, and i mean a proper turn (more then 360 degrees) not just banking to the left or right. So you might have to dodge the ability more then once if you are against a strong player.
I'm not underestimating anything. There are a multitude of champions you can't engage from certain angles. Taliyah makes a giant field in front of her that prevents anyone from rushing in on her, as does Poppy. Braum and Yasuo both have distinct directions that they're facing that force you to engage them from another angle if you're intending to adequately damage them. Fiora has a skill block zone that forces you to wait for it to end before you can engage her, and Yi and Irelia both have damage blocks that force you to wait before being able to efficiently engage them. Miss Fortune, Jhin, and Lucian also all have ultimates that force you to engage them from directions they aren't currently firing in, and basically any champion with a stun or a skill shot like Morgana or Lux has a giant "F@@K YOU" button if you try to engage them head on. You talk like this is something new to the game, when it's not. Champions having zones where they dictate how you can engage them is common as hell, and nothing new to this snowball ability.
Furthermore, they're not moving that much faster than normal move speed, and it only ramps up once they gets the ball to a certain size, and again, it's speed that's directly tied to this ability, so if you want to move to a fight faster, you either use up your snowball for movement and lose a knock up ability, or you go at normal speed. This is hardly any kind of hard mobility like a dash, a teleport, or anything else that's more useful in combat and repositioning.
As for the turning, it looks to me like their turning speed is about as slow as that of a Sion ultimate, so they're not going to be spinning it around on you with any kind of precision, and that's provided they doesn't slam into something first. And the one time in the video they did spin it around quickly was while under the effects of a Sona speed boost, which is not going to be an occurrence that will happen frequently. It'll be a combo gimmick when being played with other like Zilean, Sona, or Lulu, but it's not something he'll be able to do on his own with relative ease.
You are Chicken Little here, screaming about the sky falling. There's nothing to worry yourself with, and you're blowing it a bit too hard out of proportion.
