I have a serious question for the balance team.

Why has Hecarim been meta for less than a month and he's getting Q nerfs and base AD dropped, but the jungle pool in LCS / High Elo is literally the same 5 champs for almost 2 straight years. I'm tired of seeing new champs we don't see often get picked by pro teams, only to find it's getting nerfed a week later. Meanwhile the almost universally despised Fiora was left in her overtuned state for over a whole split. Why don't we see Xerath and Ziggs in the mid lane? Where are their buffs? But instead I've spectated Viktor game after Viktor game, and it's gotten really stale.

I find it really hard to believe the balance team doesn't balance around enforcing a meta it likes to see or thinks is best for the game, while leaving other champs essentially non-existent in LCS. Why is this?

In a game where you have 140 champions, the pros are going to pick the best of the best. Nothing that Riot did and nothing that we did, it's just as natural as the sun rising. Also this year has been SUPER diverse for LCS, so I have no idea where you have been.

You didn't actually address my point. They're picking the best of the best but this is based around buffs / nerfs in patches and they've allowed certain champs to stay overtuned for months, a handful for nearly TWO YEARS now, but some pop into the meta for a month before there's an insta-nerf and out they go. THIS is the topic I want to talk about.

You should send the pros a strongly-written letter to get them to change their picks then.

I think there's a much more significant problem here that needs to be addressed and that's the over nerf/buff of champions based on a handful of professional players.

Riot is basically designing and "balancing" the game according to their own visions and their pro visions, the problem is that most of us are not Riot employees or pros and have issues with the changes and overall directions. The tens of millions of us who LIKE our champions, who LIKE their kits, don't get to keep them for very long if Riot or some random pro says "ya know, we need to tweak this champ because they might be a -bit- too strong" or "we need to nerf this champ's ability" and then overly drop its damage, and spend three patches re-buffing and nerfing. The fact that they refuse to refund "reworked" champions is proof how they have no faith in their own balance and design.

I really could care less about the LCS, as the only way I or 99.9% of the players on this game will ever see it live will be if we buy a ticket or watch a stream. Most of the people I play with are sick of the constant LCS "learn 2 pro" videos as well, as crazy as it sounds we play a game for enjoyment. Remember when that was a thing?

The old expression "if it isn't broke don't fix it" applies too. Every tiny issue, Riot has ten different nerf/buffs to hit it with. Sometimes, not buffing or nerfing every patch might actually help smooth things out. Its become one of the worst seasons I remember, and I started in the beginning of season 3. Anybody who thinks this game is "balanced" is really delusional or being paid to say it.

Why can Garen, who mostly has the kit of a tank, have critical strike on his E and somehow also do over a thousand true damage with his ult while tanking 15 turret shots and not dying or dropping under half health? Why do Nasus and Veigar get infinite stacks of damage with no cap for either of them? Why is Yasuo able to have a shield that regenerates IN COMBAT, double critical strike chance, a wind wall, a 0.5 sec cooldown on his E at level 1 and 50% bonus armor pen for 15 seconds on his ult (that goes to around 29 secs at rank 3) and not lose any of that? Meanwhile, where are quality of life improvements for champions who weren't reworked ten times in a year? Yorick has TWO skins, while champs that came out within a year have 4 or 5. Urgot has 3 skins besides his default, Ekko already has 3 as of the next patch and he came out last spring. Swain's been around forever and has under 5 skins despite being around for 5 years+!

I understand the concept of merchandising and moving for the top sellers but if you don't try and design a few new toys for those lower popularity champs they may never get out of that phase.
