He's nowhere near good. He hasn't been good in non-professional play for over 2 years. Stop crying and learn how to play against him.

True, but he (and you, I suppose) are Diamond III for a reason. Besides, I've never seen a Dia Mastery Yi main lol.

Azir is a horribly made champion. He has everything a mid laner could want.

And as a result he got nerfed to oblivion over the last 2+ years and is gutter trash.

And the only people good with Azir are the far and few between TRULY extremely dedicated Azir mains and LCS players.

I have plenty of friends that are ungodly at azir and still play him. Hes not as bad as you say... No champion is bad atm tbh. Just less viable. As long as he has his ult he will be viable

WoonStruck2 votes

Meanwhile when Gragas was the most broken champion in the game, he had an incredible sub-35% winrate!

Your argument isn't exactly valid based solely upon win-rate.

He's just so weak isn't he?

He's weak, right?

Astôlfo3 votes

??? Mind giving me any data source to back up your outlandish supposed claims? If someone has a sub-35% winrate, they're not broken. Sure, their kit might badly designed. That's different from broken. If they have a kit that badly designed or whatever else it may be and still have a sub-35% winrate, they're gutter trash.

Your argument is illogical.

WoonStruck2 votes

My argument is not illogical. Gragas could 1 shot anyone that wasn't full tank with Q+R. Everyone jumped on that bandwagon after seeing it in LCS (equivalent), and he plummeted to a sub-35% winrate for weeks on end until he was reworked into the version prior to the current. You know, the one that make him popular in the jungle.

He was pick/ban, despite that 35% winrate, because if anyone was decent at him, he took over games and there was nothing you could do about it.

But yeah, MY argument is the illogical one here. Right.

Your arguments are nothing but assumptions and conjectures.

Astôlfo2 votes

Alright, that's my bad. I didn't know Gragas was like that.

Okay, so he's basically like old Ryze. Terribly designed kit that was way too strong. Still underperformed in the vast majority of cases for whatever reason it may be.

That's sign of a badly designed kit. He still underperformed in terms of actual results.

Azir is the same. His kit is incredibly versatile. For that very reason, he performs incredibly well in LCS where the strongest players compete. Also for that very reason as well as the fact LCS is LC$, Azir gets balanced around LCS due to his prominence within it. Therefore, by nerfing an incredibly high skill cap difficult champ at the pro levels of play, he becomes worse at the non-pro levels of play where most people can't achieve that level of skill to be able to play Azir like the broken chicken god he used to be. This continues on for over 2 years. At this point, he's still okayish somewhat for the players that are incredibly skilled and/or professional. That's sort of a given, considering he's the reason he was nerfed in the first place and because of their very experience. For anyone else though, he absolutely, utterly, horribly underperforms. That's why his winrate is so horrifyingly garbage for the vast majority of people.

And I'm not sure how my arguments are nothing but assumptions and conjectures when I laid out raw data.

Anyways, with reference to the two Gyazos you linked...

Hurdur, congratulations, you can state the obvious. You must be the next Albert Einstein, eh buddy? Every single one of those players is Master or Challenger with the exception of the one Russian. Every single one of those players is also an Azir main with the exception of 코끼리킹 who secondary mains Azir (primary is LB) but both are so close in number of games they practically main Azir anyways, and Ryoma (who has Azir as his secondary highest), Republlc (who has Azir as his third highest). Gee, I wonder why they can do well on Azir. Wow, it's so incredibly hard to tell. I have totally no possible idea how they might be doing good on Azir.

And for the second screenshot. Congratulations, people in Diamond+ (which includes mostly Master and Challenger as you just saw) can do well on him with a lot of experience. What an absolutely bizarre coincidence, right? How incredibly amazing. Oh, and no mention of there being absolutely no data on how many players actually fall under each category of number of games played. So there being no possible knowledge of sample size.

But nice job, you have totally explained everything so incredibly absolutely perfect, right? Try harder kid.

You are way too biased towrds azir. I understand you think hes extremely weak and yes with the recent nerfs hes definitly taken a hit, but he is not ''gutted trash never good''

A good azir is a good azir. A respectable one too. Goodluck to you

Astôlfo2 votes

"You are way too biased towrds azir." Hardly. I just have common sense and the ability to read data.

"I understand you think hes extremely weak" He is for the vast majority of players.

"and yes with the recent nerfs hes definitly taken a hit," Yeah, like the way he's been taking nothing but hits over more than the last 2 years?

"but he is not ''gutted trash never good''" I didn't say that. Extremely skilled and/or dedicated players can do well with him. But this applies to literally any champion. Any extremely skilled and/or dedicated player can do well with almost any champion. The issue is said players that do well on Azir are so few and far between that he is effectively terrible for the majority of players. Why? Because one, most people will never play at a level they can do well on Azir. And two, most people will never ever play against someone who's actually good at Azir (and it's not just their enemy laner being shit).

"A good azir is a good azir." Thank you, Captain Obvious.

"A respectable one too." Yes, anyone who can stick with a champion that's been continuously nerfed and shit on for over the last 2 years deserves respect.

Like i said. Ryze had a lower win rate than azir but ryze was arguably one of the most unbalanced champions before the rework.

I see from your previous posts all you do is mention Azir.

I think i'll just stop responding instead of arguing with your completely biased opinion. Goodluck

Astôlfo1 votes

Uh yeah, and you still fail to realize the difference between being badly designed and being OP. Yes, his kit was just "hurdur face-slam keyboard for the win" but even with that, he still underperformed drastically for whatever reason (I dunno that much about old Ryze). That means despite his horribly designed kit, his performance was still utter trash.

Alright, do as you wish. I'll take it as a "I have no more arguments (although I never had an argument to begin with) so I'll just try to sound intelligent as I quit", like it is. Thanks.

Also, I'm not biased, but thank you very much for attempting to at least support your weak attempt of an argument with even the slightest excuse.

Ryze _never _ underperformed. 90% bann rate in one split.

And you seriously need to wash your own tounge. I was talking extremely nice with you because i respect the fact that you have your opinion and i have my opinion

???

Ryze had a 43% win rate before the rework. Ryze was also arguably the most unbalanced champion in League during the time. Any higher ranked person would agree ryze had a ton of problems that needed to be dealt with.

Same with azir. A lower win rate doesnt necessarily mean hes weak.

Astôlfo4 votes

He had a badly designed kit since it was pretty much just "hurdur smash keyboard". Most people still couldn't do well on him. Yes, he had a lot of problems that needs to be reworked.

Azir's kit in concept isn't weak because of how versatile it is. In terms of actual performance, he underperforms severely. His kit is badly designed and overloaded. He still can't do well with said kit because of the very fact it's been neutered with repeated nerfs over the last 2 years because of the very fact of how badly designed and overloaded it is.

Do you get my point?

WoonStruck2 votes

Yes, my entire point was that he's needed a rework since his inception. They've literally removed more than a champion's worth of stuff from his kit and he's STILL able to perform.

Not well in the average player's hands, but I promise you he'll end up in the LCS again as a pick/ban because of faker/bjerg, or some other uprising mid laner.

Astôlfo1 votes

Alright, finally, something I can agree with you on. +1 to you good sir.

WoonStruck2 votes

Surprised there aren't more "Azir is bad" comments from the boards.

Azir got gutted because he's cancer and was still cancer. Then he got gutted again because LCS players showed that.

In due time he'll be gutted for like the 4th or 5th time, proving that Azir's needed a rework since his inception. He's a horribly designed champion for a game you ever want to come close to calling balanced.
