Why is Fiora still on permaban?

Seriously why? There's a billion threads about Riven Vayne Annie Fizz being OP as hell, yet Fiora is the one permanently removed from League. Even top Rengar is doing better than her - I don't get it.

because apparently a champion with percentage health true damage that scales on your AD, what feels like limitless dashes (she builds CDR and if she hits you with Q then cooldown is reduced to almost nothing), a riposte that blocks everything from autoattacks to instant cast cho'gath ult and summoner spells, a percentage health true damage ult with a built-in janna ult, and her E which applies a heavy slow and the second hit crits, making it easy to proc vitals on people and delete them out of existence is... very strong? funnily enough?

lets not also forget how her W applies an attack speed slow for like no reason whatsoever.

Where's the proof/data/statistical facts showing that she's really strong? You could list any champions abilities and make them sound like gods

are you trying to say percentage health true damage that scales on AD isn't strong? are you trying to say blocking summoner spells and instant cast nukes like cho'gath feast and darius noxian guillotine isn't strong?

like, I'll dismiss a lot of the usual crying threads about champions like lee and riven because they have very potent kits which have a lot of room for you to play around both with positioning and itemisation, but fiora is just outright ridiculous.

On paper all those things you're saying about Fiora sound really strong, but what about her actual numbers and performance in the face of other top lane champions? A decent Darius, Garen, Chogath, Rengar, hell even Nasus isn't going to be beat by a Fiora of the same skill level. All of those champions are naturally more tanky and have much more reliable sustain than she does. At maximum, hitting vitals only does 3% max health true damage and you then you have to wait for another one. Keep in mind that the enemy can also see where their vitals are, so anyone with poke makes Fiora's passive almost useless unless the Fiora player can trade efficiently. If the enemy champion is at least decently mobile, those vitals will almost never be triggered as well. Fiora in early levels is extremely vulnerable to ganks unless she builds a serious amount of CDR, so let's also not pretend like junglers take a vacation whenever Fiora is picked.

Also, the odds of deflecting summoner spells with Fioras counter are slim to none, it really almost never happens enough for it to be an issue. If anything, in the cases it does happen, the Fiora player presses W in panic and just gets lucky.

I see a lot of people also saying that the range of attacks Fiora can parry is OP. Play Fiora for a couple of games just so you can see how outrageously impractical that is.

Darius and Garen also permabanned. Chogath gets crushed(I tried it and I'm a decent cho). A major issue with fighting her is that you walking out of vision to avoid being chunked and to reset her passive means you leaving xp range of your minions and failing to farm.

Her passive is zones you if played around, which snowballs her advantage and(being a passive) it comes at no cost. At the very least I don't feel like the vital she is facing should ever be the one marked. That would prevent a lot of the noninteractive aspect and would give her a tool that helped her push the enemy laner in the direction she wanted. Also it would be nice if the indicator that showed that her passive was coming back up didn't reveal which side it was going to be on until it actually happens. Maybe some kind of swirling animation. Hold on this is thread worthy...

Also "junglers on vacation" in solo q? Stop the fucking press. Regardless of what you believe the devourer meta is undermining what few ganks top lane might be expected to get.

Here's how solo q top works. Enemy jungler is in every bush at every time waiting to kill you. Your jungler is feeding bot and mid.

If you get a chance to counterpick her, just play Lissandra or Tryndamere. If you're playing blind pick as Chogath that's a different story, and all i could really say is rush Frozen malet hahaha.

Fiora really can't doing anything against someone who has range on her or who can all in-her, outputting their damage more quickly can than she can. The passive is only up every 15 seconds as goes away, then it will reappear in a different spot after a few seconds. The part you about adding an animation to show the passive coming back up would be helpful to some people too.

The last part of what you said just sounds pretty salty. The thing about the devourer meta (which seems to be devoid in higher elos) is a whole other issue. Yeah, in lower elos (gold and below) where people build nothing but damage and don't care for good team comps, yeah devourer is popular. Obviously a top laner isn't going to have their lane camped by the jungler unless the champion is a perceived threat or the enemy champion starts to snowball. Is top lane also going to be camped if other lanes are losing? Nope. Don't be so over-simplistic man, it really weakens your argument.

Most upper tier jungler mains would rather snowball a lane than risk dying in lane that is feeding. Usually its not worth camping a lane that is too far gone. Other than that you make fair points. But counterpick is not the same thing as counterplay... which I think is the main issue. She may not be definitively op but I would rather play against a riven any day.

herd mentality.

half the player base is playing in bronze ad silver. and the captains just ban what everyone bans instead of thinking about teamcomps most of the time. it becomes a cycle. these champions are banned, so they keep getting banned.

bans should change at about plat and upwards, but that still means in about 90% of the games overall the same champions get banned.

since so many people dont even read patch notes, the current bans wont change until preseason.

G5&B boards aren't exactly known for getting it right.

imo, there really isn't a way to beat a Fiora. Even when she's behind, she's still a threatening duelist, and a strong champion at any point. Riven can be poked out of lane easily, Vayne... can be cc'd? Annie... can be juked? Fizz is at least AP now.

Vayne aside, as a tank/bruiser player I would rather deal with 3 Rivens or two Fizz than one good Fiora.

At least you can itemize against the other three. Fiora, not only can she completely negate your CC but you can't escape her while she dances around you dealing true damage and healing a ton.
