Ferocity Keystone or Item passive that grants out of combat Base HP gen equal to ~50% AP(300% cap)

This should scale strictly from AP and be a Keystone in Ferocity tree or be part of an offensive AP item to keep bruisers and tanks form abusing it.

I feel this would basically be the AP equivalent of Warlords Bloodlust.

Since it was impossible to balance an AP Spellvamp Item perhaps out of combat AP scaling sustain could fill the void.

Suggested scaling and cap is just an estimation.

Edit: only problem would be how it interacts with Heimerdinger unique health regen passive.

AD champions have life steal.

AP chanpions have defense and health.

Letting them have massive amounts of sustain with the current lineup of AP health items that already make them hard to kill would be an incredibly bad decision

This sounds really good, for some AP champions lack of out-of-combat sustain is real pain. Thousand of times I wanted to get some pushing after a won fight done, but I couldn't because I had no access to lifesteal and being at 30% HP means being forced to "b". AD champion in the same situation could get all their health back in no-time and get some work done.

It could be hard to balance in lane tho, I wouldn't want to see Ziggs or someone regenerating all the time when it is so hard to get some damage on him in the first place. So it probably should be an item rather than keystone.

I dont think it would be too strong early game I mean 50 Ap would only net a single item 1006 worth of health regen, and mages typically dont scale as well with base hp gen like tanks and bruisers.

Actually it was perfectly possible to balance AP spellvamp but riot is full idiots. On whom was spellvamp most problematic? Vlad. Add to his passive that spellvamp doesn't work for him. Done - biggest offender fixed (and may need some buffs to compensate but it is minor work).

Every mage with a DD ability on a low cool down. It became a snowball item. Full build you could heal 200-300ph per rotation. It was common to come out of a team fight with more hp then you started. It was a fest or famine thing. wasted a slot or snowballed. When a AP mage can trade with a ADC and win equally skilled it's a issue. Paper rock scissors is still key to balance of games.

Also it held them back since they had to balance new items and champions around "what if they get spell vamp" For example Jhin's ult with Gunblade. Full heal just landing most of his shots and the last one. That is seriously OP.

P.S. vamp was removed true but they replaced it with a "heal" on spell cast. Get item 3027 and 6% spell vamp from runes. it's actually better for aoe champions and low damage spammers now.

And on how many you actually built wota? I saw it occasionally on karthus, build it myself on annie, was frequent buy on fiddlestick, morde and MAYBE akali. Other than that ... didn't see it much.

I worked it in on every AP champ when it had the aura it was just too good. After the aura was removed any champion I had a Direct damage spell after I got some hp. it's only 33% effective on aoes. Get hlaf your health back by clearing minions. Helped survive those miss steps and get my hp up for the next battle since you can't back because you need to push and on aram you can't back.. I still run spellvamp runes on AP's with DDs pared with RoA If I know I can build CD reduction easly. Try it out I'm always the last to die in a team fight. I make them work for it before I go down lol.

I liked it on some champs (Annie in particular) but wouldn't even build it on Xerath. The issue is that there is no sustain right now for mages - outside of getting rylai + warmog + scaling hp runes to get over max 3K hp at lvl 15 or so. True, if it would be too good then everyone would build it... which brings us to luden's echo - WHO doesn't build it? The same issue. I find it quite stupid that wota was issue but echo is not... [it is different thing that there are only 5-6 big ap items atm so people are optimizing around that and echo is just ahead of the pack for most parts]

I agree. It's the wota comment I was focusing on. kinda hijacked the thread my bad. I do remember somewhere where riot stated they didn't want AP mages to have a lot of substance. A lite spellvamp or anotehr stackable heal on cast would be needed.

Well, another reason why WOTA was so good was removal of item 3123. It also made volibear, vladimir and mundo op. W/o easy access to grievious wounds any kind of sustain was great.

Because it was kept weak-er because if it was strong, what the newbin said would have happened.

Bad idea. Warlord's encourages fights, this mastery would discourage them.

Maybe something like a flat AP scaling heal every X seconds could work if this didn't.

It being a ferocity keystone wouldn't make sense since it's a tree all about attacking and this is out of combat stuff.

Tanks would use it as an AP item because most tanks have AP scalings. Hell AP juggernauts would fucking love it, especially Mundo!
