Some Sion ideas.

In response to my other post I wanted to add some possible solutions to his kit that might make him a bit more reliable.

In the vein of Karthus KogMaw passives, the thing that Sion's passive doesn't offer is untargetability.

However, I dont think giving him untargetable would be a good thing. It would just make him too strong.

What I do believe, if he's going to keep this passive as part of his kit, it should be a bit more elaborate. I'm all for simplicity in kits but I think this is an AWESOME opportunity to do something that offers a sense of uniqueness and still be able to translate very easily as far as mechanics go.

PASSIVE IDEA - Full transform w/ abilities on death

Sions passive should act more like Karthus passive, in that he should still have his full skill set available to him. The difference would be that the skills would do something slightly different in the sense of champions like Shyvana Elise etc, working to succeed in a... mini game.

The idea would be that Sion would overall transfer most of his oppresive cc and damage into lifesteal. He will start out with a half of a life bar and use his abilities to get to 100% (or something like this). If he gets to that amount, he will revive completely...

How his skills could look:

Q: Sion smashes the ground with his axe, slowing his enemies and stealing massive amounts of life. W: Sion creates a shield around him Secondary active: he will gain life equal to the shields remaining shield amount. Will heal nearby allied champions for 20% of the health gained. E: Executes target minion; sucking the life from it, healing himself and gaining bonus movement speed. R: Sion tackles target enemy; immobilizing them and carrying them a medium distance. Enemiest struck in his path are knock back slightly and take damage. At the end of the dash; sion explodes dealing magic damage to nearby enemies and increased damage to the enemy carried.

The R would act as a self destruct if you know you're not going to complete the mini game and will still require your ult to be on cooldown (just like Karthus).

Again, this is just and idea. The actual abilities I listed might be really silly but others might work.

SOUL FURNACE IDEA - Shield becomes spell shield at 400 shield strength.

Would look something like this..

Soul Furnace FIRST CAST: Sion shields himself for up to 6 seconds. After 3 seconds, Soul Furnace can be reactivated to detonate the shield, detonating automatically if it persists for the full 6 seconds. SHIELD STRENGTH: 30 / 55 / 80 / 105 / 130 (+ 40% AP) (+ 6 / 7 / 8 / 9 / 10% of maximum health) At 400 Shield strength the shield becomes a SPELL Shield.

This gives sion a REAL reason to want to get his health to 4k

Balancing Getting to 400 shield strength is going to take you the ENTIRE game anyway but will definately make getting there more rewarding. If you want to balance this out.. make the shield strength cap at 400.

This also is self balancing anyways. If you're eating up all that just for the spell shield, you might not even be activating secondary but this will definately allow sion to be more of a powerhouse late game.

He should get his W nerfs reverted and he's at least not feel so bad to play.

Very interesting idea with the passive. I'd say the idea of changing his move set when he's dead is cool, but I feel its a bit broken. All of his moves besides his r give him sustain; He'd last WAYYY too long in a teamfight. His r suicide move is something I want to see on his kit though.

yeah just give him the suicide move and his current death rush (which needs a buff by the way). The minigame's a really cool idea.

That's an interesting revive passive! I can see a full AD build with item 3812 being potentially broken, but the current "slap things until you die" is very much unlike the tank that Sion is supposed to be.

Also, as for Soul Furnace stacking rework, I think it should have more incremental upgrades instead of having one lategame goal, somewhat like current Cassiopeia passive. With only one goal, it feels incredibly unrewarding and makes the game less interactive for the player. Nasus players generally stay top lane all game farming and splitpushing, partly because his Q doesn't have any incremental upgrades (not that it should, though).

Yeah I understand that I suppose. The lack of CC would still hinder his autos though. The mini game would and should be something difficult to achieve.

I really like that idea.

Something like

Shield Strength at 200: Activating E while shield is up will add increased magic damage to its secondary effect. at 300: Soul Furnace secondary now deals bonus damage based on a % of Sion's missing health. at 400: Shield becomes a spell shield.

First: I love the idea, its very creative and would be amazing to play. Secondly: I agree with theDevice in that full revive should be very difficult. All CC should be removed(I'm not sure you explicitly said so.) I'm not sure I like the ult idea, and the shield would be too strong. Oh, and the E is like Nunu's Q. Maybe it should knock all enemies back?

Other than my particular critiques though, it's really cool.

I am against his passive getting any type of hard cc. Players will build sion tanky because he survives longer in his passive form as a result. If you were to give him an insane set of abilities when hes dead , there is nothing stopping sion players from going full dps and suiciding every fight (the only difference currently is that sion players build full tank).

IMO, he simply needs more tweaks to his current kit. Riot may choose to extend his life duration on his passive or give it more mobilty because he does have the capabilities to zone enemies in a teamfight with his passive.

the reason why this is a bad idea is that you can't just add this much power to sion. the power that you put into his passive must be taken from his normal kit(which will make him poo(while alive)) or he will become OP. also, locking power behind death is not very healthy since it gives you an incentive to die(not a good thing). his passive is fine as is(though i do really like your passive ult) if anything should be done to his passive i would just like some more MS or tenacity, but even that might add too much reliability. i don't have a problem killing people in his passive unless i'm behind or they have a ton of cc especially with item 3022 item 3071 item 3742 . sion is doing OK right now. a small buff like reverting the stupid W timer would most likely be all he needs to be a strong pick again.

I really like the passive idea, although it might need a generous cooldown to make up for its potential power.

Sion being immune to CC without having to ult? .........mmmmmm naaaah

Honestly I just wish non champion kills would just give 5 health instead of 2...

Wow man! With those idea you can surely be a SION-tist.

He's sitting comfortably at a 52% winrate. No reason to change him.

I think to help his passive, he just needs to be immune to slows. We have plenty amount of CC in game to stop him anyway.
