New rating system for season 8

I have an idea for a new rating system that would be more forgiving, fair and balanced. I would divide the ranked community in 10 tiers of 5? divisions :

wood - rock - iron - bronze - silver - gold - platinum - diamond- master - challenger

-All games would be between the same division -No promos -Only +25 lp and -25 lp for each win or lose (instant promotion at 100 lp) -The ranked placement of each season make you start at 50 lp -10 placement matches -First placements make you start at silver 3 (or wood 3 not sure what would be the best) -You win a tier for each match won or lose a tier for each match lost in the first placement (no effect at wood 3), always matches in division 3 for middle value -In later placements it is +1 or -1 division per win or loss

this way there is no mmr tanking and i think games would have more balance with a more accurate rank

I want your feedback on how you would like it :) have a good day

feel free to suggest what you would change in this if you still like the general idea ;)

The rank system is accurate right now, it just takes 50-100 games to see it. Once you reach 50% winrate (approximately) with at least 100 games played (just a benchmark) you have likely reached your current division in terms of skill level.

Please repsond to this on how the ranked system isn't accurate.

Also, having flat LP gains is bad because it doesn't take into account very good or very bad players. A gold-skill player in Bronze should gain more LP than a bronze-skill player so they can GET to their skill level, otherwise it's a) unfun for the bronze players facing the gold-skill one and b) too easy for the gold-skill player.

the problem is that with the current system lose streaks have too much impact for example i was bronze v i got to silver v then i had a huge lose streak because i got too cocky and then tilted so i got back to bronze 1 then i had less gain than loss so even with a 50% wr i kept getting lower down to bronze v again. Over despair i bought a smurf and placed silver 4 on it, i am playing at a decent level in silver! And i have big trouble climbing again on my main. Also, more varied divisions at lower level would be more enjoyable because it would give less skilled players a better and less hated representation of their skill (bronze is always hated even if 30% of players are in it) Also taking in accout ranked history in placement as much is a big mistake because it dont leave any room to improvement

I looked at your op.gg and found this: You keep switching champions. Assuming you main mid, stick with one champion and play them over and over again. I recommend Veigar out of the ones you've played; he's simple, and ridiculously overpowered late game.

You have a 48% winrate. You said you got cocky and tilted. That's likely your problem there. The problem isn't in the matchmaking, it's in your gameplay. And if you've played nearly 900 games, the matchmaking is probably accurate in that you're near the bronze 5 playing level.

I was placed in bronze 1 in my first placements and slowly descended to B4, so you're probably experiencing the same thing. You get placed a bit higher if it's your first season.

well thats because im just trying champ on this account now i usually main garen or nunu but i try to learn other lanes

i was silver like 1 or 2 months ago it was horrible but now i feel like all the games are one-sided at this elo, always no turrets or all turrets :(

look at lesley joshua also (my smurf) i think i was performing well in silver before i duoed with a friend i think it hurted my mmr a little before that i had kinda 50% wr in silver 4 im still silver v on this one though i would appreciate some hints

Don't try out champ in ranked. You have normals for that.

That's the problem. WInning lane =/= winning games. Plus I'll give you a while for that smurf account you bought to drop to bronze.

How would there be more balance if it goes by rank instead of skill? Currently if someone gets a low mmr relative to their rank (e.g. an exceptionally unlucky streak of afks/feeders), it's often followed by a big win streak since now you're matched against lower mmr players who are easier to beat if you actually deserved your rank. Basically the further your are from your 'true' mmr, the further your winrate ends up from 50%.

Keep in mind there are plenty of high elo players with low rank accounts, keeping them those ranks intentionally through dodging, so matching based on rank instead of skill will make for some extremely lopsided and unfair matches, instead of the current system where smurfs quickly only face other smurfs or people at their mains rank.
