So we can make a big compendium of problems with the game rn.

mine are: -Lack of carrying potential -Unbalanced matchmaking -Low lp gains with no improvement -Being forced to play stupid op champs if you ever want to climb -Ranked revert with no general ladder reset

-refusing to nerf problematic champions vayne, riven, etc -horrid matchmaking

  • buffing champions that dont need it and making random champions busted while continuing to ignore actual balance problems
Death by Glamour7 votes

Just to add to the first point that the good Dr made.

They never pre-emptively nerf anything nowadays when adding a new item/rune, they have to wait for it to become a problem in sol... who am I trying to kid LC$ before it receives a nerf.

Also as my own that hasn't been mentioned, new champs/reworks with overblown kits Sylas Akali Irelia Aatrox

  • Overall damage is too high
  • Access to damage is too high
  • Matchmaking sucks
  • Comeback potential is way too low
  • New champions and reworks have overloaded kits. There is diminishing uniqueness in the game.
  • Vision sucks
  • Stealth is still broken
Jimmy Rustles22 votes

Every new champ has absurdly overloaded kit, Sylas basically has everything but true damage

So riot forced simple champs back into the meta by giving them absurd damage numbers

Could you even imagine the Nasus or Mundo buffs ever happening a few seasons ago?

  1. Much harder to have a comeback it seems. Basically whoever gets ahead first wins. Oh that vayne grabbed a kill pre lvl 6? Welp you lost the game if she's even remotely competant.

  2. There are far too few options in higher levels of play. We have so many champions. But you can count on one hand how many champions are used in a role that arent pocket picks.

  3. Epic monsters are so damn weak. Baron falls over to a stiff breeze. Elder drake feels better but it's still far too easy. Wheres the damn epicness to it? Make the bluffs actually hard to get and not where someone can solo baron, someone else solos drake while 3 push lanes.

  4. Toxicity. It seems worse than ever. Or at least its getting to me worse than ever. Allow people to have ALL chat removed. Pre game, in game and post game. Many would love the option. And it would help people not be toxic and others to not see it

  • Champions being left grossly overpowered for months or years.
  • Damage being batshit insane.
  • Lack of communication from Riot to their playerbase.
  • Immobile champions being a chore to play in this age of mobility creep.

Matchmaking

Having to work twice as hard on older champions just because the other team has a more modern teamcomp

How difficult it is to play solo against 3 or more premades

-Mid roaming bot at 7 minutes in 90% of games. Which is a symptom of -Too much damage, everyone can one-combo at level 6 if not sooner That's it. Roll back the damage and it'd be the perfect game for me.

Terrible matchmaking and overpowered champions/items. (JarvanIV Jax Lucian Riven Vayne Yasuo Zed / item 3147 item 3155 item 3161 item 3071 etc.)

Support Itemization, Agency. (either a stun bot or a censerbot) - (lack of gold)

Autofill instantly decides who wins and who loses.

Champions that render 50%+ of the roster unviable unless banned : Riven Yasuo Vayne Zed

nexus blitz is dead.

ApathyAndGrief9 votes

Turrets don't do anything later in the game

Super/Baron minions don't provide a counter-defensive strategy for the losing team unless it's on their own team

MR is too weak

Armor is too strong

Community is toxic

I despise a good 75% of the Champion roster.

Riot keeps trying to push a game that takes patience and large portions of time into a fast pace "The game now ends in 15-20 minutes".

Team fights don't last long

New player experience is NOT fun at all

Stomp or be stomped

Macro is becoming less relevant now

Riot focuses on Reworks and new champ releases looking "flashy" and "Fun" rather than "How can we make this champ fun while also being very beatable for the enemy opposing team, and actually feel good to have in-game on both ends."

Lack of skins for characters I enjoy. It's clear Riot only cares about the people who main popular champions.

Banning people who attack griefers.

Reasons i dislike the game right now?

  • Insane amounts of CDR, which basicly kills smart trading and baiting off skills to win unfavorable matchups
  • New champions not having mobility seen as a reason to have their damage/cc/tankiness cut down
  • Having a bunch of champions with blantly overpowered kits [Warning: Kitpower means the strenght of their kits is to high, any champ can have good winrate by just upping their numbers to infinity]
  • The ignored fact that agency for one person means no agency for the other, being just that, ignored.
  • Straight up defending obviously op champions because of their "skill" invovled. Idc if u played this champion 50 games or not, if a champion has a 53% winrate u nerf it, it is that simple.
  • Runes reforged deciding who is viable and who isn't.

  • Damage is still a little high on some "problem children" across multiple roles, and some of these problem children have gone unaddressed since season 7, if not buffed instead of nerfed. I'm mainly speaking in terms of Vayne, and more recently, the decision to move a boatload of damage from Zed's mid-to-late game into his pre-6 game when his pre-6 game was already his strong point. But there are plenty of other examples...if I went and listed all my technicalities, you'd stop reading by the end of this sentence. >.>

  • The majority of tanks (and especially support tanks) feel very undertuned. Champs like Sion, Zac and Maokai are handling decently well, but some such as Nautilus (who for some reason got nerfed???) Leona and Taric feel very unrewarding to play. It's to the point that people are seeing players picking champs like these in the bot lane and believe those players are trolling them. This is partially due to the damage issue, and admittedly it's partly a coordination issue (good luck getting anyone to consistently follow you up in solo queue!) so this will be addressed in a large part by fixing a different issue.

  • Speaking of teammates...my friend and I had an IRON 3 in my friend's SILVER 3 -> 2 PROMOS...so yeah, the matchmaking is more than a little bit off. This needs to be addressed ASAP, because this right here is a nightmare for competitively driven players and communities...

  • Shutdown gold from CS...get. that. OUT! Even if the comeback potential is lower without it, there are so many things already that cater to people who are behind. They're not worth as much gold already, they gain exp a little faster, the shutdown gold from takedowns is huge, and honestly, all this comeback potential boosting stuff almost seems to me like a cover-up for placing lower-tier players into higher-tier games they don't belong in because "with all this, they should be able to come back!" What happens instead is, those lower-tier players are lower-tier players for a reason, and they then feel like every aspect of this game is against them...because the most important one - matchmaking against people of similar skill level - definitely seems to be.

  • Last one: I would like to look into the implications of our current LP system vs a more flexible, score-based LP system. In short: whether you win or lose right now, you gain X for a win or lose Y for a loss. Even if you're 23/6, have 200+cs at 25, and double the vision score of your support, and lose, and your top lane was like 0/15 with like 70 cs at 25 and a vision score of like 8, you lose the same amount. Even if you're the one who went 0/15 with a vision score of -6, and your team managed to carry you on the back of your 23/3 mid laner, you still win the same amount. Why not make your overall contribution a factor in your wins/losses on an individual level outside of promos (where a win is a win and a loss is a loss) Going back to my examples, the scenario in which you lost above would drop you by a lower amount (say...-10?) while the guy who performed poorly got a higher amount deducted (say...-19?) and Vice-Versa for the other example? You still lose for a game lost, and gain for a game win, but your contribution helps determine the gains and losses individually for instant feedback, instead of checking your MMR over the entire time and getting to the point you're earning +13 and losing -23 after enough poor runs.

Here is mine:

-Being effectively one-shotted (without the enemy using their ult) even though I have bought life/defense items. (like wtf? lol)

-Unable to carry the team /make a big difference when playing as the typical Support (if you want to climb in ranked, the game basically tells you to play something else).

-Champions like Yas, Yi, Kat, Jax, etc who, (when a bit fed and with the right build), have the potential to take out an entire team by themselves. Such mechanics should never exist. I don't know what Rito is thinking.

-Matchmaking feels unfair, either mine or the enemy team would contain players of far higher or lower skill level. While Riot cannot control higher skilled people smurfing and climbing, I do not understand where the lower skilled people are coming from. Shouldn't Matchmaking be placing them with other people of similar skill?

I PT I5 votes

-Damage is still batshit high and needs to be toned down. Season 9 is just Season 8 part 2 tbh

-Obvious OP champs left obviously OP after months and Riot's hesitation on nerfing them (we all know who they are)

-Most new champion releases since Rakan feel bullshit to play against, from Zoe to Pyke to Sylas. And Neeko feels like such a rushed kit that has wasted potential and is only relevant due to busted numbers.

-Riot's knack for warping a champion's original identity into something else that leaves the playerbase of that champion conflicted (Taliyah Sejuani Zac ) all for the sake of pro play and its audiences. And especially Taliyah because that's my main champion. Her gameplay devolved from roaming the map helping your team into being a decent teamfighter with dps into just one shotting people with W E combo, and this just makes me sad. And it goes to show how the state of the game has devolved from strategic play to one shot people and pump out as much damage as possible before you die.

How an incredibly talented design team that brings amazing artwork, concepts, and music is dragged down by a bunch of idiots who don't bother double checking numbers.

The art team, story team, sound team, EVERYTHING except for managment and balance at Riot are still really incredible, but a bunch of frat boys who think farting on people is funny and a bunch of people who think balance can be done without playing the game really drag those world class people who actually work hard down.

  • Terrible matchmaking
  • Atrocious game balance
  • Lack of any alternative gamemodes besides ARAM
  • An overpowered rune system
  • Reworks that have destroyed champions entirely
  • Reworks that have made champions even more frustrating to face and/or are broken
  • Still too much damage
  • Far too much CC
  • Severely punished for doing well thanks to the bounty system
  • Bad players can still destroy you due to all of these reasons. Skill hardly even matters anymore since the game is just a oneshot fest and/or chain CC fest.
  • Developers DO NOT respond to feedback consistently when they really do need to
  • Stopwatch. Fuck that item with a passion, whoever designed it should get the French Revolution treatment. Off with their head!

-Lack of carrying potential (as you said). Nowadays it's super hard to solo carry especially. -Too much damage. Everyone can agree that the damage is extremely high in this game. (not a fan of the new rune page and never will be). Sometimes I'll die so fast that I don't even know what I died too unless I watched the replay. -Matchmaking is horrendous. -Champions/Champion reworks have overloaded kits.

The ideal seasons for me were 2-4. Every season isn't perfect and there was always something that everyone hated but I felt like those seasons were the most fun for me. I could play non-stop and would always have fun. There were times when I'd be stressed/burnt out from losing a lot but it's nowhere near as bad as today. The game isn't even enjoyable but I still keep playing the game for some reason lol it's sad.

Hemulen Magi3 votes

Too much burst from mobile or ranged champions: mages, assassins, marksmen, divers, and skirmishers all do too much burst. Too much true damage, non-niche penetration, and blatant overkill damage overshadowing defenses and making counter-building respective resistance types feel pointless; tanks feel unrewarding to play in the current meta. Too strong snowballing - after you're snowballed, skill and strategy quickly feel unimportant; it should feel very possible to win while behind on gold/levels by strategically making better choices in regards to taking objectives, but that's not the case in the current game state. Support role still feels inherently flawed after years - the support is viewed as an undesired xp leech, usually unwelcome to roam, and barely tolerated to exist in bot lane. Supports still lack itemizable tools to support a variety of champion classes. Marksman ADC still mandatory and all progress towards fixing it has been reverted; they still scale into burst-per-second damage and no scaling class can reliably lane against them in a duo lane. AP itemization still lacks meaningful variety for subclasses like AP brawlers, non-burst AOE/DOT/DPS APCs, low-damage Ap-scaling-utility catcher/controller classes; AP itemization is just all boring burst with magic pen being almost universal in AP builds. Assassins can't do anything but burst and their burst has frustratingly little counterplay for the victims; why can't they have more toys like Shaco's boxes or some sort of sneaky saboteur itemization? Jungling champion diversity has been drastically reduced by direct changes and Riot has done little to restore it. Top lane ranged vs melee matchups are still extremely toxic and prevalent. Overall, the game is stagnant and trapped in a low point; Riot isn't experimenting enough nowadays and isn't responding to player feedback anymore (particularly feedback about damage outputs).

one word "auto-fill". it gose against every thing this new Q system was supposed to do. paraphrasing what riot said "we want people to enjoy this game so we will let you play the role you want with our new system. since the advent of autofill . it wasnt on for 1 day a week after they launched it. since then its been 24/7 365. as a player who likes to play adc and mid i hate when i get carries auto F****D into being a support. so they take a carry and dont even try to be a support.

This right here. I played a bot game to learn a new champ, and I noticed a lvl 15 was playing my man Thresh . He was using his E to knock champs away rather than pull them in, so I gave him advice to Q, then E them back.

"This is my second time playing." "Leave them alone it's just a bot match." "Dont listen to them, they're an idiot."

I tried to explain I was giving advice and not being a dick. One of the very few times I rage quit a match because they were all being dicks when I was just trying to be helpful. smh can't even give tips without people thinking you're being toxic.

inting feeders using "its just a game" "i don't care" as an excuse to play brainlessly and snowball their opponent to the point the game is no longer winnable

bad players that duo/trio queue and feed as a group, and if by any chance their friend is a low level their high level friend doesn't teach them how to play at all, they just let them die like a bafoon, the worse part is the higher level friend(s) are usually just as bad as their new friend.

rolling multiiple smurf accounts to slaughter iron/silver/gold/platinum that are hardstuck

riot only autobanning players that tilt but not the feeders that purposely int and hold 4-5 players as a hostage for 3 to 7 hours, a club of 4-6 diamond/platinum smurfs queue at the same time to prevent enemy from surrendering (this is mostly on kr/singapore servers, not sure if something like this happens in us/eu)

Mine is similar to everyone said. Way to complicated new champions that I don't even want to know their abilities. Constantly changing new Items and builds that I don't want to read their description. Some have really over powered passives. Rito obsessed with deleting old champions that people played thousands games. After four years I still miss my Fiora hoping she could return. Rito have strong bias on the so called balance problem. Like right now they nerf Morgana buff Renekton, still nothing on Riven Yasuo and so on. 5000 hp first turret and plates, feels like it took forever to destroy first turret. Also siege minion was too valuable to miss the last hit. The client is laggy and full of bugs, and I really hate this cash grabbing loot crate system. Rune system has problems and rito change them a lot. I stopped caring long times ago. Don't want to go through all the trees to figure out each ones' use. The overall damage from everyone is a bit too much. Also they should not did massively changes on every champions basic values. Overall, these problems can all be solved by simply revert to Season 3 4 5 versions. However rito is greedy, stubborn and arrogant. I doubt they will listen at all. Maybe I should just say beacuse rito games, it is boring and f rito.

Bruisers and fighters are crowding tanks out of Top and Jungle. They have more survivability than tanks, more cc, more damage, and more mobility.

This in turn takes a lot of creativity out of team comps since there isnt much of an answer to riven, irelia, or Jax dominating the entire map while being able to instantly blow up squishies.

Giving Tanks more survivability while not overturning their damage will still put them in a spot where they cant win their respective roles but can still be useful for the team.
