On support item changes, from a salty Support

as a player who LIKED support.. these changes really ruin the game for a lot of my support champs.

first off we have the item 3303 change

ignoring that fact that you had to fix it the patch later because you completely destroyed the item... we'll focus on its current version.. which STILL has a HUGE issue in it.

and that is the pointless cooldown between PROCS on DOT skills.

this affects my MAIN support Morgana .

what made her so good in lane is how safe she could play and how well she could conserve mana..

this was becuase unlike other supports.. she didn't need to thread autos in because one W could proc all 3 item 3303 if placed correctly.

this was GOOD because for a mage she has a fairly short auto range and would otherwise have a hard time procing it,UNLESS she spams her spells on cooldown.. which means she has no mana for actaul engages...

YES the tribute effect after u get it on item 3092 is bloody amazing. but the fact you no longer have a safe lane defeats the purpose of going Morgana . im much better off taking a more aggressive support like Lux who has a longer range and and thread in autos to proc item 3098 more often.

so PLEASE remove the stupid cooldown that prevents the item 3303 from procing multiple times. i would GLADLY have the tirble needed to get the great effect increased even up to 1000 from its 650 right now if i can get this back...

next we have item 3301

now frankly... i havent played Blitzcrank sicne this change..... becuase i dont want to deal wit it.

i wouldnt no longer have the safety and health sustain which was the ENTIRE REASON i got that item...

all these changes do is favor AGGRESSIVE supports.. like Brand Lux Zyra

or all in supports like Leona Braum

and champs like Soraka and Sona

"Because I'm personally having problems with the support item changes and refuse to adjust, It sucks." Is the vibe I'm getting here.

i play 3 supports.. its not my primary role... its my secondary... and i CHOOSE those three because i LIKED how they played with their items. my Lux is still unaffect but i CANT just randomly pick lux support into anything like u can with Morgana.

if they have any sort of hard CC like Blitzcrank Leona Thresh or even a Morgana ..

lux support would be a horrible choice. so if i get support i normally go Morgana becuase its a SAFE PICK... except it ISN'T anymore..

its NOT a safe pick anymore.

i choose that champs becuase i liked the playstyle... they didnt ruin the champion per say.. they ruined the reason why I PLAYED the champion and why i had FUN playing the champion...

one aa is nothing, especially on morgana. actually, no matter who you pick, you should always try to aa your opponent when you can besides, if support is really your secondary role, you really should play more than 3

my champ pool is never very big.

but i am VERY good at the champsions i play

im not quite a 1 trick. but i play very very champion but i master all the ones i play.. i mean there are other chamsions i like

but its not the same...

Nidalee is and will always be my main.. (which i can play i would guess at a level somewhere between low gold and mid plat

as most of the time i play against golds and plats is on my unranked smurf which in draft pick normally faces gold-plat and some random diamonds, but as i havent played on that account as i was learning new champs on my main account and i didnt want to ruin my "unranked elo" on that account. in a while i would need to start it again to really see exactly.

(i play that account outranked like its ranked.. and its more fun because i get GOOD teammates who know how to follow up on my engages...)

but i also play Morgana (which i would say i play at high silver to mid gold)

Lux Blitzcrank and the newest addition to my team Warwick (all of which i plat at a mid- high silver level)

i know Orianna Syndra Ziggs but i dont play mid anymore (which i would be low to mid silver at if i got back into them but current play at around bronze 3

my previous junglers were Khazix and RekSai (both of who i hope to get back into if i have the time) and would also fit into low to mid silver if/when i got back into them

and thats really my champsion pool.... just those 10

and other champs i like a and are fun to play but i simple cant do it and havent spent the time to get better at are Ekko Ahri Katarina (i don't like post rework kat though ) and Varus (all which i can play at a bronze 5 level)

other champs i can play in a pinch if absolutely need to but never really do are Sona and Janna. i know thier kit and the basics... but i never play them if i can pick a champ i like more

i mean sure there are other champs like Kindred which i would LOVE to be able to play...

but as i cant adc to save my life... and she is pretty much a jungle adc. despite my efforts on her... im abysmal.. i cant adc to safe my life (or anyone else's life for that matter)

Brand and Malzahar, as well as other off-meta supports, suffer from the Spellthief procs nerf just as much Morgana does. That being said, getting all three procs from a single spell with little risk was simply too much and needed the change. I don't think that change weakened the power of Morgana, Brand, or Malzahar in any way, since their strength was not in how quickly they can earn an extra 1k gold over the course of a match but in how they dominate a lane.

Ancient Coin, on the other hand, is still problematic. I appreciate that they saw the need for the change there, but the pickups game is not really impactful. Not to mention the skill point elixir is completely worthless post-lvl 17, and usually by the time you actually proc it the extra point isn't really contributing much anyway because it's usually just a 2nd or 3rd point into your secondary max skill. Coin needs another lookover.

Targon's is, to me, the most satisfying of the three questlines. A regenerating shield adds some survivability to the guys often relied upon to initiate, or at the very least absorb blows for the carries. Frost Queen's little speed boosts are decent as well, but I like the shield better; might be my preference for initiators.

yeah frost queen speed boost is absolutely broken... i dont even know how that was allowed to go live.. its just they made laning phase so annoying. because now i need to use my own damn spellshield to save myself when i procitem 3303 my adc's keep dieing because they're too stupid to look that i don't have it up and the blame me for not saving them. which normally i would have... except i cant anymore because the only way i have mana is if i proc spellthief with autos now.. which puts me in the "danger zone"
