Why is Riven so special?

We asked for to have a resource

"NO, THAT WOULD KILL HER GAMEPLAY"

We asked for her shield to have lower scaling

"NO, THAT WOULD KILL HER SURVIVABILITY"

We asked to lower her damage.

And that "nerf" was a love tap.

"She's squishy, that's why she's balanced."

Fizz is squishy. You then removed his DOT.

Talon is squishy. You then removed his silence.

LeBlance is squishy. You also removed her silence.

In fact, a lot of champions that are squishy have received harsh nerfs.

"Well they were assassins that had easy escapes."

Riven has easy escape. In fact, she has 4 of them. All 3 of her Qs, Her E, and another stun just in case along with a knock up that can be utilized by experienced Riven players.

Why does she get to have so much mobility, maintain high damage, and have no repercussions of having an all out damage build since her shield makes her tanky enough to go into a team and take out carries.

She's exactly like an assassin than a bruiser since she ensures a kill and gets out with ease. Oh and the whole "CC" argument could have also been applied to the others that have been nerfed, but that didn't stop you now did it?

Do something about this so-called bruiser, and put her where she belongs. It's been way too long.

You're comparing point and click assassins to a champion that requires quite a bit of finesse to use properly.

Riven's burst isn't as high as many other champions, and takes longer for her to apply. Compare to say, Annie, LB, or Talon, who can apply more damage in under a second than Riven can during her entire 3-5 second combo.

Riven is extremely squishy.

Riven does only physical damage, and is countered by armour.

Riven has no sustain.

Riven has poor sustained damage.

Riven's gap closer is also her damage ability, almost all of her damage comes from Q, do not stand right beside her when her Q is off CD. Riven needs to waste damage just to approach you.

Riven is poor in team fights because she dies if you look at her hard.

Riven is easily countered and shut down, and has no fall back pattern, if you shut her down she's nothing more than a liability to her team.

Riven has a very low win rate below plat because she takes a lot more skill to use effectively than most other fighter type champions.

Riven is an unsafe pick, and the only thing that needs nerfs is OP's whining.

Riven doesn't start with items, and if she rushes a vamp sceptre she loses lane, no exceptions.

Tell me which ability you think gives Riven the most access to her passive? Her Q. She can only keep 3 charges of her passive. Think about it.

I'm sure you'd rather whine about a champion you've never played, though.

I guess every champion in the game has sustain then, since their build can include it, lol. That's such a non argument it's laughable.

Riven needs to survive lane long enough to finish her tiamat before she can even consider buying the vamp scepter, but then lane dominance has been decided.

I never said Riven is weak, your reasoning however is very much so. Riven has weaknesses and is not one of the more powerful champions in her own lane, let alone the meta as a whole, sure, I don't think she is 'weak'.

I play against and play Riven myself frequently, and in all seriousness I consider her underpowered.

Her kit has many strengths, but they are compensated for by crippling weaknesses as well. As Riven, it is practically impossible to fight certain champions. However, one thing she does do and does really well is countering high mobility burst "LCS" champs such as Zed.

Comparing Riven to Fizz and LB is like the cliche of comparing Apples to Oranges. For one, Riven can't burst an enemy for 50% of their health in one combo, nor can she gap close that quickly. In theory, Riven is highly mobile due to her Q and E; however, pragmatically, the time it takes to use these skill hinders any speed bonus gained.

She has 2nd lowest health regeneration stat in game, almost none existent, to make up for her shield. As well, she starts off with one of the lowest base damage on her abilities and AD to balance her scaling.

I recommend playing Riven yourself and learning her weakness. Any champion that can sustain health is a good counter to her, and if they have a short duration defensive skill or a silence - all the better.

Riot actually has her labelled as an Assassin.

FINALLY SOMEONE WHO ADMITS THAT FIZZ ISN'T BROKEN!

The main problem with Riven isn't her damage. With champions like Katarina and Master Yi it isn't a problem. The true problem is how much survivability she has. Her shield stupidly scales off AD so that reaches about 500 at full build. And then she has a ton of life steal. Riot really just needs to remove her shield's AD scaling for either a flat amount or AP scaling, or rework her cc so in a 1v1 you aren't destined to lose before you even touch her.

Riven isn't necessarily OP, but she becomes one of the most oppressive top lanes if she gets ahead, and really feels like you have 0 chance of coming back. The only worse case in top i can think of is Gnar, but he's plain toxic to play against. I would feel better about bumping up her power level if she had mana since most Rivens win lane by intimidating with spamming Q and shield.

Talon, leblanc, and well maybe not fizz... to some extent, are doing fine the way they are atm. I've seen Talons dominate their lanes 24/7 against kats and ahri's and whatnot. Same with Leblanc. Their burst is so heavy, removing one cc kinda balances them. As for fizz... get him 2-3 kills early game i guess lol.
