@Xypherous All Basic Tier items should build into every related item not just Cloth and Negatron

EDIT: I realized thanks to some of the first posters that being able to just react on a dime and build a sword all the way into a BF is too much in terms of power spiking, so I took AP and AD out but I left in AS and Crit because they are typically difficult to build anyway.

On the PBE they made item 1029 build into item 1031 and item 1033 build into item 1057 to make it a lot easier to build into your bigger items without accidentally building the wrong item. They saw the basic items as being essential quick things you will always want to buy, so I'm taking that reasoning and applying it to literally every item.

item 1051 builds into item 1018 item 1042 builds into item 1043 item 1028 builds into item 1011 item 1029 builds into item 1031 item 1033 builds into item 1057

No.

  • Offensive items building out of different components means different items build paths have different power spikes and exploitable weaknesses. i.e: if you decide to save up for a BFS and your opponent grabs a Pickaxe, you are making the choice of letting your opponent be stronger than you for the duration.

  • Defensive stats are generally reactionary but also hard to itemize for. You can't ask someone who can't stay in lane to save up 720g for a Chain Vest or waste money on a dead end item (i.e.: cloth armor they can't upgrade).

Consider it an anti-snowball mechanic.

This guy has it right^ Defense is something you have to build a mix of, while offense you build one type of all game.

Good point. Removed AD and AP but left everything else.

Lol could you imagine if swords built into BF? Bot lane would be going back every 2 mins. And in turn, sustain would be awful down there.
