If Mages are no longer able to carry games after MYMU, then it's goodbye from me Riot

It's the final straw. I mainly play AP Mages. I don't enjoy other classes as much.

If you are hell bent on removing their waveclear and damage, then I have no reason to play this game anymore. Mages should be more than utility and 'just there for AP'.

I actually stopped playing my main after preseason patch. Only got 1 game on her this month. Can barely carry on a so-called hypercarry.

You really should have listened to your players several months ago.

I feel like your over stressing just because they removed ap doesnt mean that "mages are going to be dead", a lot of adc items had their ad toned down and now look at them not much else to say....... Look at tanks after their items had a price decrease of just like 200........................................................... I hate tanks.................

Mages will still be able to carry. In fact, I'd wager that the update will actually amplify their ability to do that.

However, it will require the mages to play correctly, and choose the right items for the right situation. For example, the combination of Tear and Morellonomicon in their current tuning makes your mana costs irrelevant except in extended sieges (where Riot wants the siege mages and waveclear mages to eventually run dry, to not turn extended sieges into endless sieges). Also note that that build gives a hell of a lot of AP in the end.

LeBlanc, on the other hand, can use the new Hextech Revolver and its upgrades to burst. Revolver is cheap and accessible in the laning phase and, with Thunderlord's, packs a hell of a lot of punch.

Also, keep in mind that some of the mages you mentioned will receive changes in the update - Cass and Zyra are major points, whereas Anivia, Viktor and Syndra are feature as low-scope.

Best thing is, it seems like the MYMU is planned for 6.9, which will hit the PBE in 1 1/2 weeks.
