ok, devourer is gone, time to assess whether certain champs need tweaks

Some of the attack speed junglers got buffed, some got nerfed by this change. I hope you will apply buffs/nerfs to the champs that need them rather than leave them in the dark til next season.

As a diamond 2 xin main, i fear for his viability after these item changes. I will probably just buy my skrimishers sabre and then go straight to building rageblade, then tank items. Im not sure how good %hp damage will be as a first item, so ill probably avoid rushing bloodrazor. That means it will still take forever to get to my powerspike, but thats a fine tradeoff for not ever being denied 30 stacks when behind.

I wish bloodrazor had some more actual stats besides just attack speed like maybe a small amount of AD or some lifesteal or something.

Meep Man2 votes

I would actually just buff the attack speed to 55-60%.

MegaManYYZ2 votes

i'm surprised it doesn't keep the item 1043 passive.

dangopee1 votes

Well technically its new passive will always do more than 15 damage unless they have less than 500 max health which most people have more than that at level 1

MegaManYYZ1 votes

yeah, that's true

bloodrazor needs more stats. right now its an inferior botrk. and botrk is already over nerfed, i'd rather get warrior on pretty much any champion now. jax xin u name it

I'm sorry but ROFL! Xin was viable BEFORE Devourer, he will be perfectly viable (not to mention balanced) after.

Maybe where you play hes viable, but i cant lock in xin without people calling me out for picking a 'shit champ'. Believe me, i wish that werent true. The fact is that xin is a fairly immobile chmpion. He has ONE 550 range target dash on a 12 sec cd. Assuming you manage to get in range to use it on an adc, there is a 99% chance you will immediately be cc'd OR the target will just use whatever disengage ability they have available to them. So i know you're living the struggle, and you think xin is a broken champ because you've gotten stomped by tons of them. But the sad fact is that xin cant keep up with the powercreep.

You think the 25-75% extra dmg on every third actually did anything for him besides help his early jungle clear? Do you think the .2 ad ratio on his heal really did anything for him? If i build 100 ad (which would result in me dying instantly in fights) that nets me 20hp more every third hit than before. Thats nothing. Especially considering the ap ratio on the heal got halved, making nashors unviable on him. And the 20% as nerf on his w, act like that helped. Xin zhao literally got worse this season. Rofl its sad how much people on these threads complain about xin, meanwhile there are champions like panth who have target gapcloser hard cc that you literally cant counterplay except by NEVER being in range of him.

Xin with Devourer is literally LoL on easy mode. I honestly had to stop playing him because there was no challenge at all.

I honestly laughed through your whole post. He has above average movement speed and you should be building item 3009 on him anyway. His dash has a 2 second slow, so you can easily get the knockup if you are competent with him at all. The CD is 12 seconds with zero CDR. In a teamfight, once you dash the ADC, you should immediately ult. This keeps you from getting CCd until you at least get the knockup off.

The extra health and damage you get every third hit is amazing. Build item 3124 and Xin can't be solo'd by anyone. Saying he is worse this season is a complete joke.

Youre unranked this season and you were bronze last season. Now im not saying that invalidated your post but i could make a post about literaly every single champion in this game and make them seem overpowered. When it comes down to it though, the stats will tell the truth. Pick/ban rate along with winrate and other factors tells us that xin is simply not a viable champion in competitive in his current state. He was not picked in the lck a single time this split. You might think building devourer into rageblade is amazing on xin but thats simply not true. From experience i can tell you that if you rush devourer swifites and rageblade in that order you will die instantly as skirmishes break out in the mid game. At the end of the day xin is a squishy easily kited melee champion with no escape and a very slow jungle clear. These things compound to make an unsound champion for high levels of play.

If you are talking competitive pro play, I will agree with you. If it's solo q, he is quite viable.

Xin wasn't picked in pro play, but neither were Jax, Shyvana, WW, or Yi. Devourer just takes too long to come online in pro play. It isn't because they are weak, there are just better options for pros due to the importance of early game.

As for the item order, once you have devourer (not even sated) you can 1v1 most players. Once you get Rageblade you can go toe to toe with almost anyone. Yeah, Xin isn't OMG OP but he is strong if you use him correctly.

What do you mean? Devourer is actually getting removed? What will that do to Kindred? Dx Someone explain, please.

Yes. Devourer is officially removed from the game, now replaced by "Bloodrazor" which has 40% attack speed and 3% max hp on hit.

The "double-hit" proc on devourer has been moved to rageblade; which has also had its aoe removed, stacks lowered to 6 (both melee and ranged), and it's cost increased significantly.

Kindred never really took devourer for the double hit proc as much as she did for the attack speed. The new bloodrazor actually synergizes with Kindred better than devourer because of the % hp on hit similar to her passive, however possibly the biggest bonus is now she doesn't have to constantly farm to get sated and allows her to be more present in lanes.

Myrkrvaldyr1 votes

Sounds like a buff then. If it's actually that big Kindred might get nerfed instead of the item, and I don't want that, she's my main.

MegaManYYZ1 votes

how is she you're main? you have only played 4 games with her on ranked??

maybe he doesn't play much ranked? mostly normals?

MegaManYYZ1 votes

6 kindred games outside of Ranked that I can count.

Myrkrvaldyr1 votes

I stopped playing ranked that much due to the craziness of the matchmaking system. I've used her a lot in norms, aram and ascension. Regardless of ranked, she's my main.

I don't think it will be a buff in damage for her, just more of a buff to her ganking presence. I don't anticipate her in anyway to be overpowered with this item. But I do think with her passive + Bloodrazor + Blade of the ruined king, shell be doing a lot of % hp damage so she'll be a good choice vs tanks.

WoonStruck1 votes

I can't hear you over Jax/shyv/xin being viable in lane.

item 3124

I do agree that all of the users have intrinsic problems in their kit, but 'fixing' them while rageblade exists with the old devourer passive is just going to create more issues for them.

They'll likely have inferior jungle reliability until next season, unfortunately.

Nekusen1 votes

The change is ok, if you really want Devourer active, you can build item 3124, which is a buff as you don't need stacks, you can better control the moment of the game in which you want the passive instead of being forced to build it in the jungle.

That is also a buff to them as they can get the passive while going in lane, in other words, the passive is available to those champions in more situations and is available to more champions.

More if you consider now the passive is present in a more powerful item, i wouldn't be surprised if they tweaked it a bit.
