Day 3: The death group

H2K really fucked up everybody's Pick'ems at this point. Who honestly expected them to go 3-0, and win the tie-breaker after all that... jesus. Rough shit, but impressive and Forgiven was fucking immaculate. Fun to watch.

Lets talk about tonight

Firstly, I'm so pissed I won't be seeing this live tonight. But hey, it'll be fun to watch tomorow.

Secondly, my hopes are that TSM makes it out obviously. I'm really uncertain of what is going to happen. RNG looks good, TSM looks good and SSG looks good. SPY could tilt the whole thing apart by taking a single win from one them... Will they? I doubt it. I can even see a 3 way tie breaker happening. but lets be real here, that would suck. So here is what I'm thinking:

TSM will come in prepared and ready to tame SSG. They won't fall for the same strats twice. TSM 3-1 SSG 2-2 SPY is going to give an easy win out to RNG without a doubt. RNG 3-1 SPY 0-4 TSM is going to get another win from SPY, who will be discouraged by their elimination from worlds. TSM 4-1 SPY 0-5 SSG and RNG are going to play a clown fiesta, RNG will be aggressive and overconfident, SSG won't punish from fear of throwing and losing another. RNG 4-1 SSG 2-3 SPY is going to give out to SSG, who will also be tilted from being eliminated, but lets face it, the skill discrepancy is huge. SPY 0-6 SSG 3-3 At this point, both RNG and TSM are secured for the Knockout stage. They will play this one out cool, probably keep it very conventional in terms of picks and play it safe just to see how they play eachother. I'm seeing RNG win this one out. RNG 5-1, TSM 4-2.

I don't think TSM will lose both game to RNG. Pretty sure they will be more prepared and ban Mata's Alistar (which was probably the thing that gave the win to RNG last time) or at least be able to play against it.

Personally i think it will be this way:

SSG<TSM Splyce>RNG TSM>Splyce SSG<RNG Splyce<SSG RNG<TSM

Making the groups

5-1 TSM 3-3 RNG 3-3 SSG 1-5 Splyce

Head-to-head record for RNG and SSG being 1-1 , they will have a tie-breaker and RNG will win going to the quarterfinals.

Might be wrong too, but i'm pretty sure Splyce won't go 0-6, that was G2 job...

I honestly see SSG beating TSM. I feel like either Bjerg or Hauntzer will cave under pressure.

Against RNG, I'm not seeing any scenario that TSM wins. Mata is an amazing support and has shown he's capable of carrying games, especially at MSI. We'll see though.

Even me, the #1 H2K fan, didn't expect the 4-0. Although, to be fair, ANX destroyed the Pick 'Ems before H2K had a chance.

As for Group D, I think TSM cruises pretty well through it. I'm actually calling SSG as the #2 team, as they did beat RNG. RNG beat TSM, but I don't think they can do it again without Mata's Alistar.

Funny how the TSM fanboys don't see another loss as possible (Spoiler, they lose another) and think Mata on Ali is the only way RNG won. Forgetting Uzi is a mistake, since he was able to 1v2 against Egolift and Rookiefrost last time.
