Hi, me and my girlfriend are planning to attend this years Worlds finals. What She doesnt know, Is that I would like to use this opportunity to propose to her after 8 years of being together. As such, I am looking for a Rioter, that could help me answer some questions regarding the Worlds 2019 finals. Ive already tried discord mods, Reddit rioters and both riotsupport Twitter and their official support website, to no avail unfortunately, As such, am trying my luck here, in hopes that some Riot lurker helps me out. So if you do read this, please msg me.

Surprise proposing to your SO in public is a huge asshole move. please talk to her first to check wether she's ok with public proposals or not.

It seems like a lot of people make an effort to make proposing to their SO a huge deal, and it's considered more romantic/special with how much bigger of an event it is. People will go to huge events, super popular places, etc. and propose in front of potentially hundreds of people. I feel like this is wildly unfair to your partner, in terms of how much pressure there is. If someone has any kind of social anx. or reservations, they might find it extremely difficult to say no in the midst of this huge event. I think it's fine if you and your partner have already talked about getting married, and you know they want to. However, if your partner has no idea, this seems like an incredibly unfair situation to put them in where they have to make an instant decision about something that is an EXTREMELY important moment in their life. I suppose it all comes down to the couple and what kind of people they are (if they would be uncomfortable in social situations or something), but I think it's a really bad "trend."
