Canadians getting left out of the Esports scene?

I've been around since season 1, saw the ups and downs of LoL Esports, hell I remember when shiphtur was playing in the first lcs qualifiers back on GGU. I've sat at my computer and watched world's after world's and I start wondering to myself, when is Canada going to get a shot at some Esports? Some of the greatest players to have played the game have come from the great white north and it feels like we sit on the sidelines watching every other country take their turn. So I guess my question is, what's going on Riot? Canada not cool enough to host Esports events?

Group stage should be in Toronto, not SF. I mean, California already gets the Finals. They should distribute it a little better. As it is now, basically the same pool of people could be considered local to 2 out of the 4 rounds.

It would be nice to have some kind of event come to Toronto, we're on season 6 now and I can't remember a single event up here

If you ever watched player cams in pregame for NALCS, you would see why they don't send events to Canada.

You do realize no Canadian city has ever hosted a single LoL event in over 6 years, meanwhile countries around the world have hosted quaters semis and world's? We haven't even got a regular season lcs event

Canada shouldn't host dude.... Even in LA the players are using handwarmers on stage, and we saw during allstars, players wearing hot towels while waiting to play their 1v1s.

Imagine how cold they would be in Canada.... Shoutout to the Oddbros tho

September and October are not cold months -_- I would agree if we were talking november-march because it can get stupid cold up here

Right, but in the stadiums, it is already cold enough to warrant hand warmers and hot towels. It would only be WORSE in Canada.

I share in liking the idea, but can not support it as a practical or smart choice.

Im not trolling. The players ALREADY have to use handwarmers in the Cali studio WHERE IT IS WARMER RELATIVE TO CANADA.

CANADA IS COLDER RELATIVE TO CALIFORNIA.

Edit: I don't live in either of these two places but can assure you of this by simple geography.

Ottawa can be quite the drive if your coming across the border, Toronto would be idea because of venues, accessibility and weather. Ottawa got slammed with snow this winter, Toronto barely saw any

Not to mention Toronto has the Rogers Centre, would be really hard to pass up a stadium that can hold up to 54,000 people. To put that in comparison, Staples Centre holds around 15,000 people

Norther Wisconsin isn't that cold so I'm sure Toronto isn't that bad either. I got snow in MIlwaukee before some of my Canoota people this year actually.

Would have liked to see Groups at Toronto, Quarters at Chicago, Semis at Denver, Worlds at LA. It's a nice progression from East to West Coast NA.

Two events in California just doesn't make sense.

Exactly. Much easier for California to attend Finals and Groups. Doesn't even make sense when they didn't do this for EU last year (every event in a different country and city)
