So are teams at worlds this year REALLY Good and competitive, or just bad?

I of course mean bad relative to past worlds, obviously any of these players could destroy the average LOL player.

I'm watching more of worlds this year than normal though. it's a lot more exciting. So many upsets, so many close games, no team has gone undefeated and now no team has gone winless.

Wildcards, EU, and NA are all doing reasonably. Looking only at the results, I'd say that the non-asian regions have really picked up their game and Worlds is better because of it. And there's no doubt, these teams are playing well and probably better than they have in previous worlds.

Looking at the favourites though, are they really playing at their best? Or are they making a lot more mistakes than in the past? Is it because of the current meta being a lot harder to excel in? I find that counterintuitive after everyone has complained all season that the game is too snowbally (although perhaps recent patches have made it less so). Just curious though, what's everyone's take? Is it close because the normal-weak regions are doing better, or because the strongest regions are doing worse, or maybe a little of both?
