LMQ vs Dig The Broken Zhonya's

boss10000··22 votes·2,721 views

Anyone else notice that TF used his zhonya's while HARD CC'd and in the air with the Yasuo ult, this happened about 5 times in the game, and affected so many team-fights and screwed over DIG.

http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Crowd_control

Yasuo ult is airborne, as such its Hard CC and a champion should not be able to use Anything, as such TF should of not been able to zhonya's all those times and would of died, this thereby screwed over DIG, costing them kill and team-fights where TF would of been dead.

Due to this bug, which had massive affects on the outcome of fights and the game, there needs to be a re-match.

Video of the game.

Look at 34:50 to see the most obvious example of this bug.

Allot of people noticed it.

Remember that potential non-game affecting bug with Aatrox that resulted in a remake? Yeah

Care to bet this game changing bug won't cause a remake?

boss100001 votes

It was a massive bug that affected team-fights and as such the game, Riot has to give a re-match where zhonya's (active) is disabled to be fair and prevent it from happening again.

Angry Monster5 votes

Remake is not going ot happen. THe rules state that DIG has to pause and request within like 5 minutes of the bug happening.

Riot will never disable an item in LCS.

boss100005 votes

It was a hard to notice bug though, unless your playing proper attention you won't always notice it, doesn't change the fact that it affected the game and needs to be addressed or looked at properly.

Angry Monster7 votes

Hard to miss? They did a replay on it almost every time it happened. I love how the casters avoid saying anything about it.

boss100003 votes

I was talking from a player perspective as DIG themselves not the casters

Angry Monster2 votes

ah i guess it would be hard for them. Unfortunately they do not get to go back. It would be nice if coaches could call pauses for these situations. The world got to see to the bug so i am sure the coaches did also.

Pretty sure this will be buried by riot and players will be told not to talk about it.

boss100001 votes

I hope Riot does something but if they did acknowledge it, they they would have to potentially disable zhonya's which as it is a super item would massively affect so many AP champions and completely change the game if that one item was banned (or even just the active).

I'd guess this bug exists because of something that's hard-coded into the core of the client, so it would take a massive overhaul/rewrite to change.

Just a guess, though.

That is a disgusting rule that LMQ can get away abusing a confirmed by riot unintended, gamebreaking bug scott free.

I don't care if Dig didn't pause and call it, it's extremely unsportsmanlike for them to be allowed to basically cheat and say it's ok because you didn't notice during the game (LMQ clearly intentionally abused it during the game, it wasn't an accident), they should be facing penalties as a team for this if there isn't a remake.

And personally them doing it as a team makes me hate them forever, that they'd sink to using that to win.

Angry Monster9 votes

it is not like LMQ did anything wrong. Spamming 2 to zhonas and hoping to get .1 sec in between CC is the correct thing to do. I think it is not fair to assume LMQ is abusing something.

as others have mentioned it is not a easily repeatable thing to do. If you are mad at anyone get mad at Riot. They pushed a patch that was supremely buggy and was not a quality patch.

Phoenix Kotori 5 votes

When they intention triggered the same bug multiple times during the game, it becomes abuse, I can over look a single use, especially one of the uses looked like the baited depending on the bug to be able to catch Zion. LMQ should issue an apology if they didn't intend to abuse a bug for an unfair advantage.

as others have mentioned it is not a easily repeatable thing to do.

Yet they did it 3 times during the game.

If you are mad at anyone get mad at Riot. They pushed a patch that was supremely buggy and was not a quality patch.

LCS is on the previous patch still.

Angry Monster2 votes

The last patch was very buggy. This patch is buggy also.

again get mad at riots quality control.

You're acting like LMQ knew about the bug. Quit being so angry.

Phoenix Kotori 1 votes

They **repeatedly **triggered the bug, there is no way they didn't know.

Pretty much this, Chain-CC is a long-term problem. If you go through LCS (and other pro-matches) you can find a multitude of examples of people flashing out of a fight with a dark-binding attached to them and similar things. If you want to blame anyone blame Riot, not the players. It´s only natural to just hammer the Zonias-Button in such circumstances and hope it acts before you´re dead. Anyone would do the same.

boss100002 votes

As Kchaoseri said, I don't think LMQ is to blame really but its more, Riot should not have Zhonya's enabled if this is possible, and look to fix this bug as soon as possible.

The issue is not Zhonyas, but how CC works with other abilities.

If you look at a LOT of charges/dashes, especially the ADCs, like Corki, Ezreal, Tristana, Graves, Lucian, allow you to do their charges after being stunned and cced. Tristana is the most obvious with her jump having a "cast time animation" it allows her to literally cast and get the jump off as the cc hits her (it doesn't get out of hooks unlike Ezreal's). This can be seen with the shorter charges but is harder to do since they don't have as obvious of a cast time. These "bugs" have been in the game for a LONG time. I know playing tristana I just wait for the cc to hit me now and jump as it hits me so that I don't get knocked out of the jump by the cc.

tl;dr: this "bug" is an inconsistency with all CC and it affects charges, flashes, and zhonyas. This is a lot more than just "zhonyas" bug.

Kira Onime2 votes

It's a problem in the CC overlapping. I cannot speak for all the charges/dashes/blinks and whatnot but I do know Ez's arcane shift is meant to break so of the CC such as blitz hook.

Flagrock1 votes

How can CC be "overlapping" when it's the first cc applied to you? What I'm talking about is jumping/dashing/charging/blinking after being HIT by a cc. The only ones this bug doesn't work with are pulls like Blitz, Thresh, and Naut, otherwise you can do it on any stun and some snares (ryze actually is one snare that can't be cheated, thanks instant casts). The issue isn't the overlap the issue is being able to do an ability when the cc hits and or after it with abilities that have a cast time.

Old Man Teeto4 votes

*Edit: It's not a bug directly with Zhonya's, it's a bug with applying a CC on top of a CC allowing the person who is CC'ed to act for a split moment which lets them do something while being CC'ed. Zhonya's and Flash are the two most prominent uses.

Long standing bug that has been well documented since Season 1. I saw this in the DIG vs LMQ game and went searching for that thread with the evidence, couldn't find it on these boards and decided to recreate it.

It needs to be fixed, however, it's a bug teams know about and as frustrating as it is to occur, has been part of the game long enough that Riot tends to ignore when it happens unlike champion specific bugs.

boss100003 votes

Zhonya's should be disabled then, how long was Shen disabled due to his bug, then this item should also be disabled aswell till the bug is fixed .

Old Man Teeto3 votes

Edited my comment to clarify that it's not a bug with Zhonya's it's a bug with CC overlapping giving them control of their character long enough to cast instant cast things (flash, Zhonya's, etc)

boss100002 votes

This really does need to be addressed then, cause this is massively game braking, the big question is why has this been allowed to be in the game for so long, it as the LMQ vs DIG game shows can be game changing, and prevent champions that should die, from dying.

Sabrestrike3 votes

This isn't even a problem with Zhonya's specifically, it is a problem with the way CC effects are applied. The clearest examples of this are flash and zhonya's when they shouldn't happen but there are a ton of effects that sometimes happen when you should be theoretically cc-locked. Basically any dash/flash/spell shield/shield/stat buff could be cast when it shouldn't be able to be cast for a very brief period in between cc effects.

If you wanted to be really fair you'd have to disable every champion with active abilities with short to no cast time if you wanted to prevent the effects of this bug. Eliminating Zhonya's because it's the flashy obvious example is sloppy.

I'm not surprised. Riot has been leaving very important issues around at a base mechanical level on how the game works. When you keep leaving inconsistencies laying around these kind of issues are just gonna keep poping up. Games at every levels lose their legitimacy (especially relevant in this kind of high level game).

Anyway here's my list on the matter: http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=4206919&highlight=

I also saw someone flash out of Yasuo ult and took none of the dmg upon the downward movement of his ult. I thought they had actually hotfixed this like 7 patches ago. Different matchup I believe it was CRS vs TSM, Amazing flashes out. It is hard to tell on the replay if he even got hit with the tornado but he took thresh's lantern and should have been in it's path.

boss100002 votes

definitely a major bug that needs to be fixed as it affects many different aspects of the game and can affect official games and effect the outcome of games.

What annoys me more is Phreak calling those initiations bad and grilling Dignitas -

No! Those initiations were PERFECT. XWX would have died from at least three of those initiations if he could not have Zhonya'd, easily winning them those fights!

onenut2 votes

In the last fight, when Zion decided to 1 man ult into fog of war onto XWX, they would've lost that fight because Yasuo would get instantly blown up by the other 4 people. Not to mention, Shiphtur missed his shockwave. DIG would have lost that last fight.
