I don't play Lee Sin but I seriously don't get how this board hates him so much. He was BAD for the majority of this season I'm not saying he was more deserving of a buff than other champs did but this unanimous hate for him and LC$bigplays crap is beyond stupid.

The problem is that lee is a generalist. He can do anything that any champion can while also able to do a lot more. You can insert him into any team comp and he will be able to deliver. Tankieness, damage, engage, disengage, peel, protection. his kit is overloaded enough to support any playstyle. It's the same reason people hate thresh and to a lesser extent nidalee.

True but there's plenty of champs that fit the "jack of all trades" description Azir Gangplank Nidalee Jayce Gnar Elise just to name a few. Also Lee along with most of the champs I listed have a high skill cap so most of the people you see using them aren't going to be that good.

Yeah he might be high skill cap, but with the sheer number of tools in his kit the outplay potential is in his hands not yours. This means if he is reasonably competent you just don't have the tools to beat him while he does have the tools to beat you no matter who you are playing. Banking on Lee just being flat out worse than you doesn't exactly make for compelling counterplay. Even when you do manage to kill lee you almost never think "wow i outplayed him", you think "wow that lee screwed up and i got a cheap kill off him". It just feels like you are reliant on him to make the mistake rather than you using your skill.

(i'm not going to touch that list of "generalist" champs, while i disagree with some of them i think that tangent would be a bit off topic)

One reason is that it's incredibly difficult to punish him in the jungle before teamfights. The combination of his ult and W (and sometimes Q if he uses a jungle camp) basically makes it impossible to catch him out.

His Q also takes slightly less risk than J4's and Vi's basic mobility spells, since he can choose to go in, and has slightly more cc. Of course, VI (and maybe J4?) deals more damage overall. He just feels frustrating to play against (tho some people feel the same way about the other two bruisers I mentioned).

I don't think he's overpowered in the slightest, it's just not fun to see him too often since he's often the #1 picked jungler every season, lower win rate regardless.

What are you talking about? Lee could 1x1 anyone early, really, anyone, before the buffs. Now he's even stronger.

lol that doesn't make him strong. In most games I saw him he became a siege minion in late game teamfights.

Yep, he pays for his insane, even OP early game, by having a mediocre late game. Look at Pantheon. He's not nearly that strong early, but falls off just as hard. But guess what, Pantheon isn't Riot's favorite, Lee is.

I wish they wouldn't play favorites, just because people love someone.

Alright you sit there and watch 70% of the games because Braum and Alistar are the Tier 1 supports.
