Cloud 9 Major change announced

So in both the lcs and the challenger squad MAJOR changes happened

As of now it is announced

LCS

Top-Impact Jungle-Meteos Mid-Jensen Adc-Sneaky Support-Bunnyfufu Captain-More than likely Meteos or Bunnyfufu

Challenger (now here is where it gets interesting)

Top-balls Jungle-Rush Mid-Hai Adc-Altec Support-Lemonation

Now all five of the people in the challenger squad are very talented veterans, some world respected players, if we remember the last time a group of veterants went into the challenger scene, aka Origen, it was completely one sided and they dominated by them.

If cloud nine does what origen does, what will be that teams future?

Notes

  • At the same time the majority of the challenger squad is also listed as subs for the main squad
  • Altec isn't signed but on "loan" from nrg

Honestly, I could see the challenger team being better than the C9 if this does get confirmed. Don't want to be a cynic, but I tend to wait for an official announcement from the team before I 100% believe stuff like this.

I thought Lemon is retired.

They will probably put Hai back on the LCS team because everyone just clicks with him

also, remember what happened last time when Jensen and Meteos were on the same team?

wait, isn't Lemon C9's coach now? How is he both coach and challenger support?

That is probably just going to be a reserve roster for scrims and to keep Rush, Balls and Hai active just in case they need them ready for emergency, and in doing it so they are doing Altec a favor while he finds another team

If they had serious intentions about getting a CS spot and eventually a promotion for a quick sell of an LCS spot they wouldn't have FFed in the Battleground tournaments, and Lemon isn't clearly even at CS level right now. They probably signed up just in case they were able to find some player to tryout in time for the tournament (because clearly they have to find at least a bot lane if they keep going with a Challenger team, AT LEAST, and without counting that also Balls and Hai are on the tail end of their careers), but they didn't find someone in time and so they had no use in playing that Open Qualifier tournament

If true this would be a huge change from a team that was looking really good for most of the split. I'm kind of shocked they would trade Rush for Meteos. Really strange to me.

Nah man,we need C9 Dyrus in the top lane with his legendary Nami tank top

After nabbing rush off TIP, bunny off GV, and these 2 NRG guys, C9 should totally change their slogan to "where all the good players on average teams roam".

I don't exactly understand the point of putting a second team of world class players into the challenger series. They are going to do well, it's almost certain, so what happens when they get into the LCS? They can't have two teams.

I though the whole point of the CS was to bring fresh new talent into the LCS

Hai back in the midlane! Fantastic! I really hope to see this, and can't believe they're bringing lemon out of retirement as well. Not sure what I think about the LCS team though. Meteos seems like a downgrade to me. He was really off his game just before retiring, can't see him being much better than before. Then there's Impact, who honestly didn't make much of an impact last split. Bunny did not look that great either in the games he played. Add to that the fact that Jensen seems to have a hard time bodying fools without Hai's specific instructions to do so... I think you have a recipe for disaster here. The real A team is the B team!

I like the pickup on Impact over Balls. But why not put Meteos in the Challenger team. And Altec stepping down a level suprises me too.

That's not an official announcement just because it's from espn, It's most likely the case but it hasn't been "announced" yet. Also if you look at where the challenger series open qualifiers are (https://battlegrounds.leagueoflegends.com/t-CSOQNA-16SU/brackets/en_US/203) they're out.

Wtf

OurLordBison4/27/2016, 4:13:45 PM1 votes

I don't think trading impact for balls is that good due to balls and his attitude and personality for the team but we do get memetose
