Seriously. I did not expect BOTH teams to win. I hoped for it but never thought it would happen like it did. Now the question is... will TSM be the NA first loss? or will they go 3 wins for NA?

As predicted lol. But the rest looked good or at least better, if Dyrus did not feed Ssuday then i could have been a win maybe since they did have a solid early game.

Not sure I'd call AHQ easy, they're a solid team that's proven themselves on the world stage before.

AHQ is a good team but C9 completely out picked them. C9 pick and ban was the most impressive thing in that game the rest was just about holding it together. The fast win was pretty amazing the map movements were just excellent.

Uhm, I think C9 pick and ban was nothing special, it just had a clear purpose unlike ahQ one, they basically said : "the only chance we got to win is to have our carries to hard carry us, so let's give them two of the most powerful hypercarry champs with the best late game potential in fights/tower sieging and let's hope we can get there and be able to fight for win to win", and basically did that adding to the two hypercarries a champ that can complementary help them with global ulti damage and a champ that can flank enemies to knock them towards those carries

ahQ pick and ban ended up being really bad because it was opposite to the kind of playstyle they uses. With that comp you got to ran risk and being hyper aggressive in trying to picking off enemies early even risking deaths, while in the end they showed that kind of aggression only once, and that was when they got first blood, after that they stopped pushing for some kind of advantage aggressively and they got severly punished

Actually I feel their purpose was not just that but to have a team with really good siege potential and then they baited westdoor into taking a champ that had no waveclear(generally it's the mid laner that gets the crazy clear potential). Of course they left darius so of course that was picked up(no good waveclear) and I believe the kalista was picked up early as well. It was a case of AHQ taking a comp they liked but not one that would work well agains what C9 picked

They did not "bait" westdoor, it is just that Westdoor has a very limited champ pool And Darius no good waveclear? Wut? Darius has great waveclear, what ahQ completely lacked was ranged waveclear, which backpedaled once they throw their advantage and went behind vs Veigar/Tristana/GP/Morgana It was a case of ahQ not using their comp properly and not exploiting C9 weaknesses when they should have after that first blood, and then C9 executing perfectly with their comp

i´d give C9 a little more credit - they knew AHQ has the tendency to play mostly roam/pick oriented comps, so they just picked a good siege comp that is hard to engage on (veigars cage is just so damn broken in that regard) and grouped. It´s just way easier to execute than a pick-comp and thus they won relativly easily. The same happened later on in the YW vs KOO game. I think it´s really a good tactic for a team that is possibly outmatched to just go for a relativly easy to execute siege-comp, as that puts incredible pressure on the opponents with relativly little effort (losing lanes? just group mid and if the opponents react slighlty wrong you get at least a turret, if not some kills on top).

That sort of tactic will fall apart versus teams that really outclass them, but if IG doesnßt step up to their playoff performance they might fall to C9 aswell.

Fizz can perfectly evade Veigar cage with his pole, thorugh, westdoor MASSIVELY underperformed in that game, as well as Ziv didn't exploit his costant advantage on Balls, and that's what lost game for ahQ. Once you allow C9 to siege/poke with Veigar/trist/GP/Morg it is basically over, but ahQ not having their carry players crushing hard the oppositions when they could do ti is waht screwed them up, as Sneaky naturally won his ADC battle as was expected and turned the momentum of the game through that first dragon that tilted ahQ

that´s just what i meant - AHQ could have won with their comp, but it would have relied heavily on Westdoor roaming around with Mountain, mostly ignoring mid and finding picks to snowball the sidelanes. That however is a strategy that relies on perfect execution on the micro and the makro level...so yea, they underperformed - but even if they had performed better they still would have had serious issues closing that game. All C9 had to do after the Draft was to survive the first 10-14min and then group mid whiel warding their flanks to shut down most of AHQs winconditions. It had been just the way easier/more intelligent gameplan. And that´s the thing about C9 - thy are really intelligent about playing the game, and they can give any teams trouble that make even slight mistakes while drafting (if they´d be a little better on the execution they would be world-class). And that´s what makes them the most dangerous out of all NA teams, even after a very bad season.

Westdoor didn't even had to roam much to win, imho, it was just enough for him to not eat all of that cage stun on Fizz and proceed to dive Veigar after dodging them He literaly was caught really often by Veigar cages with his pole on CD, which is massively underperforming as Fizz, if he was decent C9 wouldn't have close game so quickly

C9 win because ahQ did nothing to fullfill their own win condition I agree that C9 is really really smart, but I don't see their P/B or their execution in that game as something extraordinary, it was ahQ plan execution who was pretty damn horrendous. I mean, when did C9 took 1st dragon before 12 min this season in NA? They never did it, their average dragon time is far higher...that was not supposed to even vs an early game oriented team like ahQ and with a late game scaling team comp in C9. At 12 min they were supposed to survive, not to be yet winning

FNC played against the team which is fighting for first place it was the only game where u couldnt say who will actually win..... CLGs group is a joke overall thoe and C9 played against the worst team of the group. for FNC upcoming matches will be easier.... CLGs group will still be a joke and an insult for viewers, C9s match vs. IG is what matters and most likely they wont have a chance.

Thats the thing.. Fnatic playd against a really strong team. iG surely didnt bring their A game, but its how Fnatic started the game, and won methodicly not dropping anything, forcing a surrender.

CLG plays Flash wolves, something far beneath iG usually ( i'd say due to iG not bringing their A game the difference is still a bit less but still huge enough ) And CLG just.. won it due to a single mistake from the adc of FW, on top of that FW just did a horrible draft. CLG can get to quarters and thats it. They're just way to far from whats needed to face the bigger boys. For me I'd say pre tourney they were looking like they could do decently well ( obviously not even remotely win it ) - But after yetserday's game, it's done this team wont make it to semi's.

And TSM is just hugely overrated, like by far the most overrated team. Their macro is horrible, and it's a typical NA thing to be bad at the rotations/mapplay.

Just look at the 0-20 minute gamestats thats on "thescoreesports" . EU takes drakes averagely 5-6 minutes before NA, and average gold ahead by 20minutes they score one of the lowest of all regions. First tower taken and first blood they're insanely slow aswell. And thats the average of a whole region.

It's not fnatic thats insanely strong and the rest is shit @ EU as people say EU is "shit region apart from fnatic" its Fnatic being that good. It's actually the opposite, NA is insanely forgiving for macro play. I'm insanely concerned for NA teams despite they won all their games up till now ( CLG/C9 )

Being confident is cool n all, but the cockyness TSM players and CLG players bring out is just off the world. Its disrespectful towards the opponents.

Then again, 95% of the community doesn't really know how the game should be playd properly and doesn't bring out real arguments/facts.

i guess he uses the average for winning teams - and if that´s higher it just indicates that EU teams understand a lot better how to snowball ahead in the midgame and close out their leads.

As long as TSM administers triple threats (top, mid, and bot, with Santorin on a tank and helping out ALL lanes) and their decision-making and teamfighting is sound then they have a solid chance. KT Rolster isn't exactly the best team.

Probably. But you never know for sure. I would not be surprised if the went 0-6, 1-5, or maybe... 2-4. I have little respect for them as a competitor this season. They have become too 'soft' and I do not think they should have gone to worlds with their recent play history. They were world stage ready back in spring. But defiantly not now. Especially with their group. But regardless I still hope they do well since they represent NA. And I hope they can learn how to adapt so they will be enjoyable to watch again.

And as i stated above, no chance. They playd against KT - A team that suits the playstyle of TSM , they the stronger laning phase, made nothing happen as usual. ( simply cause their macro is bad as fk )

Better hope CLG wins.. Flash wolves made a huge mistake ( and adc got caught ) and won due to that.. against YW.. And the games look INSANELY poorly.

Btw, it looked like FNC, CLG and C9 had an easy first day, but iG is considered top 4 in the world. Bad game for sure but lets just see how the tourney goes on... let's just say it's all the luck in the world CLG is in this easy group..
