How Good is Stixxay? (don't read if you haven't seen the finals)

So real talk.

We have many good adcs in NA, however Stixxay was always in the middle of everyones list, not the top, not the bottom. However he is now a finalist winner. He most defaintly played good in the final game five on his signature Tristana. However....he had a Lu Lu to back him up. Lu Lu is literally every AD carry mains wet dream to have on their team. If the Lu Lu player is good, the Lu Lu can literally turn any ad carry into a late game hyper carry.

ALSO HISTORICALLY, CLG has always played around their bot lane, unlike other teams who play around mid laners or top laners, CLG has always been a organization who is willing to put resources into the adc.

So is Stixxay carrying CLG? Or is CLG carrying him? Is he NAs best ad carry? Or is he simply "good"

So is Stixxay carrying CLG? No, it doesn't feel like it. Or is CLG carrying him? This feels more the case and creating chances for him. Is he NAs best ad carry? No, Turtle is by far much better an ADC. Or is he simply "good"? Still would place him here despite CLG winning NA Spring 2016. Still feels like 4 big brothers carrying their little brother.

Not very. He will get picked apart on the international stage. Especially if CLG doesn't learn to draft adc's. Wtf are those Ezreal and Trist picks, not gonna work against better regions.

Feels more like he's just good to me. That's not to say he hasn't had his moments, but I don't feel like he's the actual carry of the team. I feel like the team just supports each other really well. There's not really a star player imo.

I noticed him missing some cannon minions when he was farming on-screen. He showed up strong in game 5, but he still has a ways to go before he's on the level of Turtle or Doublelift.

Well obviously hes pretty good, he played an important role for CLG winning, especially the last game where he topped Doublelift.

This is just his rookie season, he got crowned the mvp too of that series, I think he may actually be top 3 in the next split or so, but for right now, I still put Piglet and Doublelift above him.

Also the other playoff games was mainly Darshan going off and carrying, so I don't know, but Stixxay is better than what I expected, lets say that.

Stixxay isn't a great adc, he's mediocre at best. He shined in game 3 because he hits out ranged everyone but his positioning in team fight is horrible, and this also applies to Huhi, the one reason he beat out Bjersen this series was because he was on ekko then a full supportive and tanky LuLu. Stixxay and Huhi are both being carried by Darshawn and Xmithie

He's a rock. He's not a flashy play maker, but he's not an idiot constantly overextending either. He's just a good fundamental player that stays true to the basics and that keeps him out of trouble while also allowing him to have a presence every fight. Maybe you can't show me where he's carried the team on his back, but I bet you can't show me where he single handedly cost the team the game either - and I can find evidence of that for every other ADC in the NA LCS right now.

As a whole it's the team carrying each other though. I honestly think people struggle with this whole "team carry" concept CLG has. Everyone wants to point to one guy and call him the carry, but CLG doesn't have anyone that fits that description right now - they carry together as a unit.

Stixxay is the NA version of S5 Spring Split Steelback on Fnatic. Both rookies, both not flashy but solid players from the start that can be carried, both clearly inferior to the best in the region, and even more inferior vs the top international competitors, both young but with seemingly limited ceiling, both carried by their mates in playmaking position which are among the best in the region

Steelback after being annihilated at MSI and after having a lot of struggles in S5 Summer because Fnatic took Rekkles back and he had to go to a weak team in NA CS, turned out to be kinda good in S6 Spring, even surpassing people expectations, let's see if Stixxay will have a similar development in the end (without the struggle due to someone taking his place in Spring, obviously)

Hes sort of just middle of the pack right now. But, he has shown incredibly fast reaction times on a lot of plays/flashes/Qss/etc. To me, that shows that in a split or 2, he could be pretty decent if he fixes his current issues. He has some laning and teamfight issues, but his reaction times are pretty slick. He gets out of a lot of things. I noticed it during his first games. He Qss flashes a lot of knockups, kites incredibly well on kalista. I think his mechanics are really good, just some of his game mechanics are not up to par with top adcs atm. He could get there, though. If you go back and watch some of his games, you see him really getting out of some sticky situations with some very fast reaction times. Compare that to piglet getting max range cocoon'd and caught 50000 times.

I think he just isn't that flashy. He doesnt make god-tier outplays to WIN teamfights, but he does make incredible outplays to SURVIVE teamfights. Maybe he can eventually merge his ability to outplay and live, to being able to outplay and carry.

Well, if Stixxay was bad, then CLG wouldn't be first place. You can't be a bad ADC and expect that your team will be first place. Was it luck? Luck only gets you so far. Is Stixxay the best ADC? Maybe not, but that doesn't mean Stixxay isn't a good ADC. If you want to try and say another ADC is better than Stixxay, then you need to provide a measure that shows it. In the absence of a good measure, we can only really say that Stixxay is one of the best ADCs in NA (as measured by his team being first place) and nothing beyond that can be said definitively.

I think Stixxay is pretty middle of the pack for NA ADC's. If you set him up for success, he can definitely carry the game, but at the same time he can also be a liability and get caught out and fall behind. I think you can break down the ADC's into like 3 tiers of skill and Stixxay would fall into the second tier for me personally. Luckily, He plays on a team where he has a team who can carry him if needed so the pressure for him to carry all the time is not has great.
