It's true. Build:

Proceed to wreck faces.

Tahm is like a Ryze that scales with survivability instead of mana. At max level ult, you get 1 damage for every 12.5 bonus life added to all your abilities and auto attacks. You will do more sustained dps than literally every other ap caster while having far greater tankyness. Give it a shot before you dismiss it.

Also, the best skill order is: Q W E then max R > W > Q > E. Use W for crazy aoe damage from spitting minions and for the occasional champion nuke when you catch someone.

Your build is sound, but Tahm going mid lane isn't advantageous due to who you are going to be laning against. To take advantage of a scaling item like Rod of Ages, you need to survive poke from the likes of Twisted Fate, Azir, Viktor, and a slew of other poke heavy champions. That's just where they dwell. Where you are building your catalyst, they are finishing up their first damage item and poking you out of lane. They are going to push you under tower and deny you CS, requiring your jungler to camp your lane until you can get tanky enough to survive. You won't be able to push your lane out to roam and pick up assists or kills like other mid laners have the opportunity to do.

I'm not necessarily dismissing your build, but I am saying that you need to be able to play the first 20 minutes of the game before you can get strong enough to become relevant. That puts you and your team at a huge disadvantage to carry until then while their AP carry mid lane is having the time of their life.

The only thing while i didnt createa a "nerf tahm's dmg ability" is due to how easily u can push him onto his turret. Now don't get me wrong the build what u (and many other solo laner tahm use) is REALLY strong in an 1v1/2v2 skirmish situation but it has 2 major flaws:

1: doesn't solve solo tahm's main weakness the waveclear. He can easily be pushed onto turret and forced to lose a lot of cs.

2: at tfs you are a 1trick pony. Unlike tankench you can't really rely on your shield as your hp will be burned down really fast , so using it is mandatory and not optional. Under that 3 seconds u need to throw out everything and pray you bursted some1 after that you are basically out of the fight clinging with whatever hp you have left.
