I really want to get good with him (not for the new skin that came out) because I find him so hard to play with. Other mid laners just beat him but I see other players play so well with him and it makes jealous. I usually build Tear of the Goddess on him first then I go into Rod of Ages but lately I'm starting to think tear is a bad item on him. Can anyone help me improve on Kass?
I would say watch Faker, but he just got his butt kicked while playing Kass lol.
I'm just a silver noob, but i'ill give you an advice anyway Kassadin is bad early game, so you should just try to farm, after level 6 gank bot for kills and once you get fed it's easy. I build Rod of ages first, luden's ekko after. Other good items are Zhonya, rabadon, and void staff. Late game you can kill squishys with 1 combo(you're an assassin afterall), by ulting in, using Q W E (order doesn't matter), use zhonya, once zhonya efect finishes your ult is out of cd and you jump away safely

today, faker played him in the last game against AHQ and i think it showed kassadins power pretty well. he simply has none. completely useless champ.
Kass is very item dependent early game. The best thing to do is either farm under turret or poke the opposing lane denying them CS but, I tend to go with the safer option. That or...get a time machine...jump back to season 3 and enjoy.
Pre-face... They do seem to be buffing him lightly on PBE atm so this might be easier later.
Okay so step one... Have a lane where you can indeed farm a decent okay amount so you can eventually get ludens and other bullcrap.
Step two... Have other teammates that start fights and be the void based cleanup vacuum. Seriously Kass unless overwelmingly ahead shouldn't be starting fights in his current state so instead follow up on ally picks and puke a full combo on anyone caught. Hopefully by late game you'll have Ludens, Deathcap and Lichbane and be a 100-0 threat on the enemy ADc by yourself, but until that point you are doing jack all by yourself.
i s**t you not, build him AD. look up "S5 AD Kassadin build", make an item set, and just have fun.
