Zed=Talon?

Hi guys, I have been playing LOL for a month and I am saving up for either Zed or Darius. Now, I have heard that Zed is really hard to play but that doesnt scare me. I was looking trough the champion list, and talon caught my attention. His stats were almost identical with Zeds apart from his health stat which is actually better. And I also read that Talon might be the best AD assasin right now. Who should I go for? And again, not scared by difficulty level.

if you just started, and your above level 20, get runes... may not be as glamorous, but it helps 5x as much than getting a new champ. and also, difficulty level shouldn't "scare you", but if you just started, stick to easy champions. its the best way to improve and i doubt your mechanics are good enough on someone like zed. And even if they are, you should be focused on the game itself rather than trying to get down the mechanics of a champion, so easy champions are the best for starting because it allows to focus on the mechanics of the game rather than just the champion. If you REALLY want a champion to play. Get Fizz, he isn't an ad assassin but he is broken, easy to play, and is 4800 instead of 6300. Really wouldn't recommend getting zed tho, even if you can play him properly, you definitely cant play him properly and focus on the game mechanics at the same time. P.S. ignore the "stats" on the champion page, they are complete nonsense.

as a diamond player it depends on preference. If you are trying to get better dont play any of those and just play easy champions. You just want to have fun dont care what you play? get zed he is easier for noobs compared to talon since no escapes. Stats dont really matter its about the kit. If you just want champions that you can do good with or win with or do alot of damage with once again play the easy champions like annie, fizz ect.

Talon is a riskier champion than Zed, he can put out more damage (and a lot of that damage is aoe) which makes him an arguably better assassin. On the other hand Zed has a much stronger lane phase and is far safer since he can use his shadows to escape, he can still take out squishies though don't get me wrong but his burst damage just isn't as high as Talon.

Overall it comes down to preference, Zed is the safer pick but Talon can steamroll harder with more damage output.

Zed is better at getting in, threatening the hell out of a squishy, and then getting out.

Talon is better at straight up blowing people up.

Talon is the more reliable killer Zed is the safer killer

Talon is an aoe bomb Zed is a 1v1 duelist

Talon is easier mechanically but less forgiving Zed is harder mechanically but forgiving

Talon team fights well Zed is a great split pusher

Both are really good but it's your preference

I most definitely prefer talon though c:

Zed is more about killing targets with grace, and skill. In and out.

Talon is more burst focused and all in.

I would recommend Talon since his kit is easier to learn and he is relatively easier to carry with. However if you really want a challenge (and possibly a main) I would recommend Zed.

  • Zed is a lane bully, Talon is a passive farmer
  • Zed does poorly if he can't snowball in lane, Talon can go and start snowballing after the laning phase, or at the end of it.
  • Zed requires way more mechanical champion skill than Talon. Talon requires way more timing and experience (when and how to go in, to succeed)
  • A fed Zed can blow up one target, and then has to retreat and all he can do is poke. Talon does AOE damage, so when he's fed he can take out a couple of targets, and hurt many enemies, he also does decent damage when not fed, and can still kill at least one target, and chunk others.
  • Talon does poorly against competent enemies with CC, meaning he has to wait for them to blow most of cooldowns before going in, or risk getting 0 for 1. Zed can play around cc.
  • Zed's ult can be cleansed with QSS and Zhonya's. Talon's ult can be negated with Zhonyas, also Yasuo's wind wall can negate a part of Talon's ult.
