ADC tips and tricks?

I have been playing as a ADC since i started to play LoL 2 months ago. Mostly because Ashe was a easy champion to use. I have grown quit fond of the role, and get even better at it. Do you guys have any tips or tricks for how to improve as an Adc? How should I approac team fights? I mostly use Ashe, but I have Tristana too. Saving up money for Vayne or Kalista.

I tend to think of the ADC as one of the most Team Reliant roles. So it's important to know your champs strengths and weaknesses, and understand how that works with your/the enemy team.

  1. Work on CS. The ADC role is probably one of the most item reliant roles in the game, and you need to get the most out of farming.

  2. Understand your enemies. An ADC can hold their own against anyone they can basically kite. But many fighters and Assassins will be able to jump you with little effort. (and will kill a glass cannon easily)

  3. Stick to the lit up parts of the map. Things go real sour if you are jumped by someone, whether you were pushing lane, or in a team fight.

  4. Skirt along the rim of your attack range. Doing so would give you the best poke/dps while leaving fewer vulnerabilities.

  5. Club the closes person you can safely reach. While not a confine rule, ADC's typically lack the tools to commit to a kill, (that's more of an assassination tool), and most times it's not wise to chase after a kill. (especially when you don't have vision.) But if you club the first person you can reach. You will be able to do constant damage in a team fight, while your teammates are able to control the fight with their abilities.

Stay behind your tanks.. wait for someone to engage. Focus their carries, and just don't get rekt trying to engage for your team. Trist/ashe are nice to start off as, just farm in lane with em' PS Don't get Mordekaiser (hes a waste of ip) Focus on the cs.. last hit as much as possible.. being aggressive depends on your support, if your support is something like thresh, go ahead, but if it's a soraka.. i'd just lie low and cs.. Vayne/Kalista can be hard.. you can easily mess up and die, but they're really strong in this juggernaut meta. ALWAYS TAKE summoner 4 summoner 7 idc what others say, take these, they're the most useful... remember to buy item 3363 and item 3026 .. last of all, whenever you die it's YOUR FAULT.. don't blame your support, it's always your fault.. don't try to trigger other people for something you did. When you're ahead, push, kill, and wreck the enemy team.

I have never and will probably never blame support. I blamed support once, because I said adc first and he was premade. But he agreed to be my supp, and when the game started he supported mid lane instead and told me to fck off :P I play support/adc mostly, so wont blame my supp.

Team fight from the back. But play other roles too. Particularly learn supp, so you know what supp does.

Learn jg too to learn how vulnerable adc is.

Learn the solo lanes too.

I have played all roles, and I have champions for each role. My fav lane apart from bot is actually the mid lane, I just need a AP mid. I am soon gonna start with ranked games, so trying out a lot of positions.

  • learn to stutterstep, meaning you cancle the backswing part of your AA animation with a movement comand, it's essential for keeping a good position while useing your AAs.

  • For begginnings, stay at your max AArange if possible and only attack the closest target, stick only to where you have vision, ant try to stay either somewhat close to your support or tanks. Ahe, Jinx, Varus, Tris, Kog and vayne work better than most other carrys with that playstyle. Later on, you will learn to judge the damage potential of your opponents and beeing aware of cds, which allows you to attack preiority targets ratzher than the closest without putting your self in to much danger. Though thats something you mostly learn from experience, especially if you play other roles. It's way easier to judge how dangerous a champ is, how much effective range he has(the range in which he really is dangerous, not the highest ranger of any skill in his kit, which for most melees means the range of theri gapcloser), and most off all how long their important cds are.

  • Learn to properly CS, as you need alot gold, and most of it comes from cs

  • Play Support!!!! You have to play with a support together, so it's important to know what those guys actually do, and what they **can'**t! At the same time for every support 'main' reading this, play adc every once in a while, you can only work well together if each kows ateast roughly what the other is doing. hint, engageing in the middle of the lane while 10+minons march towards your tower is a bad idea, unless your 101% sure that you can get both kills without dying. Also, whatch eachothers cds, complaining about Graves not following on your engage after you saw him blowing his E cd to doge something and maybe his Q to trade is plain stupid. how should he follow up if his gapcloser and main burst are on cd? Similar for adc, son't play utterly agreesive if your thresh just missed his Q and maybe even used the lantern, you gotta respekt CDs, and empty mana-bars!(both, that off you and your support aswell as those off your oppnents) Also, talk to your support/adc in the champ selec or at game start, atleast get a rough estimate on how agessivly you two want to play the lane. It's bad if you play agressive and push out the lane, while your support stays far behind and trys to play it save. it's also bad if the support goes ham while all the adc wants to do is chill and farm up. If an engage happens, ping to make clear which target to focuse(hint, it's often better to focus the sup, some sups dela more damage than their adc ealry on while beeing an easier target, others often end somewhat out of positiond and prettymuch die befor their carry can provide followup) If your opponents focus your support, don't just run away, your not in imidiate damger so atleast AA them and evt get an counterkill while holding your escape to get away if they switch focus (same for supports, most supports deal similar damage to adc early on if ignored, don't just stay behind your adc and occasionaly heal as soraka, give em the bananas!)

you might notice that i put a lot emphasis on support aswell, thats because bot is a duo-lane. It doesn't matter that much how good you or your support are alone, but way more about how good you are together!

I usually play supp/adc. I just write that I pref supp or adc, and then I chose one of those. I only have 2 supports, in Annie and Blitz. But Tahm Kench is free2play this week so I wanna try him but people pick him before I do and its a pain in the ass to play against him. Whenever I get their adc to low health he swallows them and runs away :P
