How do you play against Blitz?

A few days ago I asked if I should start with ranked, because I had just reached level 30. All of you said no, but I ignored it and thought that one game couldn't hurt. I was Jinx, and was up against Poppy and Blitz. But no matter how safe I played, Blitz got me. I stood behind minons, I farmed under turret but he always found a wayto hook me. So wonder, how you guys play against blitz.

Playing jinx?

I recommend learning to play Sivir as an ADC if you have a problem with blitz.

she's strong and easy to learn.

Just try to the moment you hear the blitz pull to immediately press E and ta-da! no pull! you made blitz obsolete.

Morgana does the same thing.. if you also support. but a bit harder to land. so if a morgana fails to shield you in time.. it's because their cursor wasn't on you the second it happened.

anyone know a keyboard shortcut for instant allies?

that's why sivir is better at spell shielding because it immediately goes to her if you don't know any fancy tricks... try to use yourself as a meat shield for your support or they'll become the target. I'm sure they'll be grateful in the long run to you.

Oh I forgot one more thing..

side stepping! if you see blitz come at you and you cant get away fast enough try to side step around him. like in a circle around him. his pull is a strait line and may miss you.

like my friend said "Movement is another fancy ability."

and the position kiting and moving practice will make you a better adc in the long run,

easy, if you see a blitz provoke him to use his pull, dodge it and count for ~15 seconds that's the usual cd for his pull, ward the side bushes, blitz loves to hide in the bush and pull when he has the chance to land, make sure bushes are warded and time his pulls, dodge them

lol how did he grab you if you were behind minions ? ? ?

You can dodge the hook. Just step aside. The only undodgeable hook is flash + knockup+ ult + Q. Few champions can survive this lvl 6 combo.

It's not hard to dodge blitz pull if you know it's coming. Blitz pull is usually a lot more telegraphed then threshes pull even though threshes pull is easier to dodge sense it's slower. Like your already doing stay behind minions at all times and mirror blitz movement as to always have minions infront of you. When blitz tries to go around the minion wave you can run like fuck to your turret or go further into their side of the lane as to keep minions infront of you and punish blitz heavily for being out of position and trade with both him and his adc. This is a very risky strategy that only works if the lane is completely warded. You can also not do this strategy if your unable to win a trade or even a full on deathmatch if your forced to go too far away from your turret. It's important to develop a routine of always moving in random directions at all time, always mix up these movements and keep them as untelegraphed as possible. Get into the habit of doing that over many games and it will get easier.

The counterplay to Blitz is just dodging hooks/sitting behind minions. When his hook is on cooldown you have a good 16-20 seconds to play aggressively and he can't really respond. Just be mindful of:

  • low health minions: Blitz will often time his Q as the minion in front of you dies, so you get hooked unexpectedly
  • when you're alone in lane: you're helpless against Blitz without your support, play safe when your support is warding/roaming/etc
  • places where you lack vision

Don't play Jinx if you can't dodge. Play Sivir and press E when Blitz uses Q.
