How long does it take to get a high ELO?

Lately, I've been having a rather unhappy time in ranked. I do try and stick with the tips given to me. Like play safe if you're in doubt, don't pick champions you're not totally familiar with (That's a habit long gone) and even remembering to use your free ward as often as you can.

But I still can't seem to get out of Silver 5 (I get demoted fairly quickly when I manage to get Silver 4). Am I too inexperienced to get any higher right now? Or am I just bad? (Which I probably am anyway lol).

I've started this game around the time Gnar was released, and I turned level 30 a few months later (two or three, maybe?). My gold/platinum friends started playing years before I did, and they seem quite comfortable in their ELO position.

Tbh, I started playing like March, I'm now Gold 3 (Ill get plat if I have a day to sit down and play). Its just the pace at which people learn honestly. Just keep playing and having fun and I'm sure you'll get there :)

depends on the player really. most players get between bronze and silver when they first start in ranked. I'm guessing that you still will need to learn more about the game before you can keep climbing.

it is not a function of time.

I started playing at end of season 3.

I'm plat 3, just dropped from plat 2.

There's bad games and feeding (including from yourself) in higher elo as well. After all, a game has to have winners and losers, and sometimes you aren't the winner.

I started Play at end of season 2, when Varus was released. Now I am Diamond 4. I have a friend who started in start of season 4 and now he is diamond 3.

you are just bad and learned improper things and you learn in inefficiently if you cant improve, you just need a proper coach or an epiphany

I been playing since Season 2. I have gone to Bronze 5-Gold 5 and back down again lol. I am now Silver 4 so I feel like it takes a long time unless you have endless hours to invest into league and actually can afford to become a pro. I feel like I never get better but maybe that is because I cant invest 15+ hours a day into watching pros play and going into the champions statically wise. Also I cant play unless the camera is locked... So I am pretty sure you need to play with your camera unlocked to be even better.
