When you hit 30

Don't go into ranked immediately. I know, you've waited 30 levels and countless hours so you can play ranked, and you want to jump on it because you're so excited to play it. Don't. You'll regret it when you have to drag yourself out of Bronze and you'll regret it when you run headlong into people who are ten times better than the people you just finished playing against pre-30. So instead, play some Draft and Normals and get better before taking the plunge. Your patience will be rewarded.

And all the bronzies will appreciate it and hopefully stop bitching on forums about how Zed is so OP when they don't play him.

Good advice. I went into ranked after only around 200-300 games played in normals (I don't remember the exact amount) and got Silver 3, but then I was lucky enough to be carried by my teams that I got ahha.

I played ranked as soon as I possibly could and I didn't regret it. I even started in silver IV and it didn't seem like elo hell there to me or anything. It felt like most players were about as good as I was then.

Honestly nothing wrong with getting placed bronze... it's not the inescapable hell that people make it out to be. If you happen to get placed bronze just keep playing and you'll either climb or improve enough to climb.

And use your IP for rune pages and runes for the champs/ roles you can play.

On the far end of the spectrum, here I am just surpassing 700 wins and never played ranked (cept 5 games at the literal end of S4)
