How do you play against strong early game champions?

I got rekt by Darius early game as Irelia. Do you just sit under tower, and wait for your minions to arrive instead of being greedy for a CS until you reach your powerspike?

Yep, just hang back. Try and freeze lane just out of tower range - if the wave is pushed close to his tower just go take a jungle camp if you can, roam mid, or just go back to base and wait for it to push back to your side.

Basically do whatever you can and DON'T FEED.

Trust me when I say there's nothing more frustrating than playing against a smart/defensive late game champ as a lane bully.

Because the only way Darius can carry the game is if he gets a few kills in lane. If he doesn't get kills in lane he's going to have very little impact on the game. Whereas you'll get stronger as the game goes on, even if you're not farming that much. EVENTUALLY you'll get strong while he become less and less relevant.

Don't extend for CS, don't worry about your first tower going down - if he pushes to the second tower call mid and jungle up for a gank. Just DON'T FEED.

If you can't get cs, try and stand in exp range. If you can't do that then find something else to do.

*The best way in my opinion has always been to get early jungle help. Plead with your jungler to give you an early tank to get you ahead.

I used the play Pantheon top a long time ago and it always pooped on Rivens and the like. But the smart ones would get early jungle pressure and if they ended up getting a kill on me or just keeping me from getting ahead at all I always went on tilt and became useless.

Another super nice thing to do is to either grab a jungle camp once and a while and the biggest thing is to gank other lanes!

Whenever I am in a lane and I can't kill the other person or I have trouble farming, I just set up ganks in other lanes to get them ahead.

Good luck!

Ps: gangplank for president *

Depends on the match-up. When u play as irelia against darius, u max ur E first and wait until ur hp falls below his, then stun him with ur E and autoattack him when hes stunned. thats how u win or go even in trades. If you completely lose on trades, back off and wait for the minion wave to push to your turret. You want to stay alive and avoid trades so u can farm or at least, soak exp from the minions.

You build armor.

Thats it, keep building armor and try to bait for them to turret dive you. Once they dive you they'll notice that they can no longer kill you and they will die by the turret.

Don't engage on Darius early. He wins every matchup from levels 1-3 with the exception of Jax or someone with infinite poke (Gnar, etc)

Hang back out of his E range, take a little early CS if you can freely since he'll take Q first - just be wary of getting too close. As soon as he hits 2, hang back further to ensure he can't engage on you. slowly drop back to turret with him and freeze the lane or farm under it. He has the lane advantage, you won't win that as Irelia in lane given that you both have approximately even skill levels.
