Team Fights and Splitting

Head Count When you are grossly ahead as a team (30-5) at 20 minutes, it's a great feeling. You are able to 2v3 or 2v4. Of course throws are possible but you have to intentionally feed when it gets to this point.

In most cases both teams will not be drastically far apart. It is crucially important to recognize the number of teammates that are around you compared to the number of enemies you can/cannot see on the map. Don't fight lopsided battles, 9/10 times you just end up give free gold to the enemy team.

Splitting (Head Count 2.0) The best time to split is when you know that the enemy team is preoccupied. NOT WHEN YOU JUST DON'T SEE THEM! The best way I can explain this is by listing scenarios :

  • Your team cannot contest dragon but you know all enemies are at dragon.

  • 2 enemies have been slain and your remaining teammates are putting pressure on a lane forcing the remaining enemies to focus on them.

  • (this one is your call...) You can see the entire enemy team at the bot lane trying to force a tower. You can either split or join the fight. Warning : Your teammates may infact be idiots so joining the fight might be a good idea.

Dying for Dragon It's not uncommon for people to dive for dragon in an uneven matchup. I believe only the Jungler should attempt this and it's better not to follow them when they do. Dying while securing dragon is acceptable. 2 people dying and securing dragon, not so much...
