The only time i can ever seem to do it is when the Irelia is horrible, like stepping on freshly placed Teemo Shrooms(no joke). What Champions or strategies or items i can use to beat her or atleast give me a better chance against her in lane?

Lane bullies are you best bet here and 100% know your matchups, IF your playing someone irelia hard counters all you gotta do is be carryable and wait for teamfights. I know alot of people want to be the carry but the fact is If you are playing countered champions into those its very hard to do that. So wait CS what you can and don't die. If you die in lane to a scaling lane bully like Irelia or Riven Leave the lane and go gank somewhere because you will basically get denied unless you come back up with a kill or 2.

darius absolutely destroys irelia in lane, a nasus that rushes sheen will out trade her as well. malphite's attack speed slow is just crippling, and hecarim bullies her hard as well.

you basically just need to play a champion that can hit back hard when trading against her enough to scare her away since she'll always lose if she tries to hit you. avoid pretty much any squishy champion unless they have the mobility to engage and disengage (like riven) since irelia's sustained damage will overwhelm you if her post-6 burst w/sheen doesn't destroy you by itself.

Malphite and Lee have been commonly accepted as hard counters due to their attack speed slows.

The best way to go at her is by being able to survive her burst. I suggest Trundle DrMundo. She normally goes tanky/stacks health both of these champions are great at dealing this this.

apparently the best way is to play Nasus because a plat 5 Irelia somehow fed the fk out of gold Nasus 1v1 last game.

Well if you are a tank/bruiser build Hp not armor, she has innate true damage. Ignite can help a lot. Don't sit within melee range of a low health creep to prevent her from engaging on you for free.

Basically, Irelia is a lane bully, and a good one at that. In order to beat lane bullies in lane, you have to play a lane bully. I've had success with Urgot, Riven, and Renekton, all of which are stronger bullies due to one thing or another.

Renekton can sustain better while having tremendous base damages.

Riven can out damage Irelia's sustain and well as kill her post 6, which is very difficult to do since the blades heal Irelia.

Urgot can out bully due to ranged damage and armor shred making it a nightmare for her to farm and the 15% reduced damage from his passive helps out a lot too.

I imagine Darius could work well, I've never personally tried it though.

Bullying Irelia and zoning her from farm is the best way to deal with her.
