In Ranked, should I just do my main most of the time?

Like... if I get hard countered before I pick I obviously want to do something else, but if I can hard counter somebody already picked with a lesser-played champion than my main, who can stay even or just counter said champ less than another, should I just stay on my main or use the hard counter?

Countering doesn't mean shit in low elo, its all skill

Yes, play the champs you are comfortable and experienced playing. Don't stop at one champ though, learn others, you will find at least a handful of champs you really like and you should master them so that you have more options if you are not able to play your main.

I have had people rage and dodge or afk when their "main" gets banned by the opposing team, or ours even if they didn't speak up before banning started. Have your main, but have others you are good at as well.

So counter picks are great if you are really comfortable with the counter. This strat back fires though when people learn to play around straight up counters or when you are not good enough with the camp you are picking to counter with. Some times it is not a counter as much as a skill match but at lower elo have not figured it out.

In all reality very few match ups are straight counters.

Play your main as often as you can. Learn how to play against tough matchups/"counters" and such. But have some other comfort picks/roles just in case.

Except if you're a Riven main in Bronze

all good champions have no counter or bad matchups, they can beat any champ. if your champ has "hard counters", probably learn another
