I mainly only play champs if I like their personality/character. I love playing people who are dark like nocturne, I also like playing people with the "crazy" feel to them like twitch and ziggs.
No not at all. Have fun with who you like. Hell if Azir wasn't cool as hell I would have stopped playing him by now because he always gets nerfs

My 3 top favourite champs are 
. Makes me seem like a typical try hard but the simple fact is I love the way those 3 champions play and I just really like them as champions. And generally when you play who you like you do better. Long story short play whoever you want.
I agree with you. It's so sad that you HAVE to play meta champions if you want to climb. The balance in the game is so horrible.

I do agree that a champion's voice and attitude can affect the fun of the game. For example, Jinx is a ton of fun to listen to, which makes me feel slightly better when playing (Twitch is also amazing, but I don't own him)
Anyway, good on you for playing who you want and expressing yourself. I play a variety of different champions, but I always play who I want to. For example, recently I've been in the mood for aoe playmakers, so I've picked up Viktor and have been playing a lot of (by my standards) Orianna. Sometimes I want to play super tanks or hypercarries... you get the idea. If I don't know who to play and can't decide, then I jump into ranked and play what I get
Maybe I'm weird, but I love playing "Heroic" or nice guy champions. It is literally impossible to play 
and be upset at the same time. I also enjoy 
because when he says "Bring down the hammer" it just gets me hyped. I dont really main any of these guys but they're probably my favorite champions to play
